People get fellowships before most are notified about whether or not they are accepted from wait lists

yeah, pretty much if you are waitlisted you have zero chance of fellowship. Applicants are waitlisted to the general pool not a consortium pool.

So what happens at the March 01st meeting if a school had a list of 10 candidates they want to give fellowships to but the school can only get 3 of them. Perhaps the other 7 candidates ranked other schools higher, so other schools get first dibs and grab those 7. Does the school use its waitlist then to still offer 10 fellowships? Or do they just take 3 consortium fellows that year?

Were all McCombs admission decisions released this past Friday? Or will they be calling more people on Monday since that's technically at the end of the month?

My guess, and it's purely a guess, is that they would take three. Let's say a school accepts 20 applicants and only plans to give out 5 fellowships. I'm sure they take a list of 10 students (just an arbitrary number) and will offer fellowships to the first 5. If one is taken then they make their way down the list and if they only give out four then they just give out four.

The waitlist and the fellowship list are two different things.

Hey all:

Long time lurker checking in. I didnt see much in the thread about Olin, but i just received the admit call. So they are on the way guys. Best of luck to everyone. For roll call purposes

Consortium Round 2 (in order of rank)
Tuck- waiting
Tepper- waiting
Ross- Interviewed 2/17
UT- waiting (i see admit calls went out friday, so im guessing im gonna get a strong ding from them LOL)
Olin- admitted
Kelley- waiting

Reading this thread, im surprised that i got in to Olin given the "ranking" system discussion. Whatever, I'll take it.

Have a great day guys

@forumaddict Thanks for the post a few pages back.

Had my Duke and Darden interviews this weekend and it looks like I missed many pages on this thread during that time. Congrats to all the admits!

I heard a rumor that a "big" one (not in size) may be releasing decisions this week after the meeting on the 1st. I'm not going to get everyone worked up so I won't say until I investigate further lmao.

Nyny, I interviewed with UCLA on 2/18 after receiving an invite on 2/9. However, they did confirm that they won't be releasing decisions until 3/30.

Wow, I didn't apply to ucla but I'm annoyed by that....if they meet on 3/1 and make a commitment to Consortium staff, saying we're giving students A, B and C the fellowship, what purpose does it serve to not tell them for 4 weeks... Imho it's just mean!
