Dang. Add me to the waitlist. Tuck is a tough program to get into. Just popped over here from the Wharton forum...looks like less than five folks were accepted from GC, meanwhile more than 30 folks were waitlisted. Seems like a large amount of people here were placed on the waitlist as well. Let's hope it's just yield management (especially since we're talking about Tuck here whose yield is <60%). Congrats to everyone who got in. Good luck to those who were waitlisted and denied.

I will go out on a limp and say, its might be. But with the overflow from last year together with the record number of applicants in the EA and Nov round. I doubt there will be any movement in the waitlist. .....just my two cents

That may or may not be true. It also depends how many EA applicants were accepted. Perhaps they decided to take fewer applicants in EA and waitlist more. Perhaps they will not waitlist many in Nov. Too many options. Of course, if one had to guess, they will take a few off the waitlist.

Please add me to R2.

I've a general question, just wondering if anyone could answer. I've a coworker who went to Tuck who knows me well but not enough to write a complete recommendation. I'm wondering if there is a way from within the app that I could have him send a brief note on top of my 2 recommendations. I haven't seen anything like that on the Tuck app but somebody on the Kellogg thread mentioned a similar thing. Just curious if I can do that for Tuck as well. I'm sure adcoms would regard an alum's comments very highly.

Thanks!

Every school views these things differently. Why don't you email Tuck admissions asking permission to send a third LOR from a Tuck alum? But don't tell them that he doesn't know you enough.

I tried to read all the posts from last 2 days and update roll call accordingly. Most probably I missed something, so please, PM or post here if smthing is wrong.

To all waitlisted applicants - I guess it is the worst position to be in... :( Maybe you should just treat it like a ding and l live on & concentrate on other things/other applications?

Looks like a lot waitlisters from EA. Not sure what that means for RD1 given adcom has had RD1 apps for over a month. Anyway, add me to the RD1 rollcall, I did my self-initiated interview in October.

I'm not sure yet. I'll see how I feel after I hear from Tuck and after I go to Chicago's admit student weekend. I think Chicago has a great program, but I'm a bit worried about the "community" aspect of going there. Obviously that is one of Tuck's strongest points.

My top choice! :)

Applying in R2. Add me to to roll call.

After so many waitlists I am pretty much scared.

Waitlisted here too. I've gone through the app and especially my essays a few times and feel that they were cliche and it wasn't my best performance. It was my first app and they've gotten considerably better as time has progressed.

I asked for feedback in my email I sent noting my desire to stay on the list, so we'll see what happens with that. It says an Admissions Officer will contact me by March 30 - hope it's sooner than that! :-)

Congrats to everyone who got in.

I also withdrew my application... After being waitlisted I sent the school my withdrawn and got the following automatic response:

"...Being on the waitlist requires a great deal of patience and, historically, we do not see movement from the waitlist before spring and into summer. Any candidate who maintains an active candidacy on the waitlist will be reevaluated for admission at the end of the admissions cycle (late May into June/July)...."

So, to all waitlisted: hang in there, use the second round to apply to other schools and good luck!

Yea. I got the same reply. I hope that is not true. I am really hoping the re-evaluate the waitlist during the next admissions deadline and let a few people off. Never know.

ahhh..I wouldn't count on it unless the quality of the pool declines. Usually doesn't happen.
