for those that were rejected last year and reapplied this year...
did everyone receive a rejection letter saying that tuck wants to offer you feedback and only does this to less that 10% of rejected applicants? i have a bad feeling that this is was generic email sent out to all rejects and not genuine at all.
I'm a first time applicant, but I've been looking at Tuck for over a year. I've spoken to more than a half dozen current and former Tuck students, a couple of admissions officers and a member of the faculty. All of those experiences have been positive and, in my opinion, Tuck is about as genuine and sincere a place as you'll find. I'm sure my experiences aren't unique in that respect.
If you received a rejection letter offering you feedback and you're considering applying again next year, then I'd definitely avail yourself of the opportunity. I haven't found another school that offers the same experience that Tuck offers, but if you don't/can't wait another year to reapply to Tuck, you might want to check out Yale SOM, Fuqua, Haas, McCombs and Johnson. None are identical to Tuck, but these schools seem to get as close as any other (domestic) program I've found. Tuck is my first choice, but given my age, experience and family situation, I'll either matriculate to Tuck next summer if I'm admitted or else I'll attend one of the other programs I'm considering.
Good luck to you.
