Yeah that's what I thought with R1, except later I found out that I was put on the waitlist without an interview. So even if you don't hear back tomorrow there is still a chance.

How did they notify you that you were placed on the waitlist?

logged in on Feb 1 and under "decision status" there was a link to a letter saying i was waitlisted. i never got an email. i was certainly surprised.

Hi guys, long timer lurker, 1st time poster.
Just want to chime in that I was surprised as well that no one here got an invite. Also, since last night, I haven't been able to log into my USC account. Does anyone else have this issue?

Can anyone from RD1 confirm if USC sends out ding notices?
Still hanging on by a thread....

Never mind, I am able to log in on my notebook, must be an issue with my PC.
If I don't hear anything by afternoon I am gonna give them a call.

Hi,

I've been following the posts for a while and finally decided to post due to the large number of people that are wondering what's going on with their application decision. I realize that USC is now on a different round of admissions from the one I applied to, but I wanted to share my experience with everyone in hopes that it might alleviate some of the anxiety.

Applied:Nov 16/2010 (R1)
Invited to Interview: Dec 1/2010 (notified through email)
Interviewed: Dec 15/2010
Accepted: Feb 1/2011 w/o financial aid (notified through email)
Acceptance Package Received: 4 Feb 2011

GMAT: 700 (42 Verbal, 42 Quant, 5.5 AWA)
Work Experience: 1.5 years project management, 2.5 years in management rotation program in Financial Services
GPA: 3.2 Overall, 3.8 Final Year
Volunteer Experience: Primarily limited to roles within current employer
Background: Male, International (Canada)

About the interview: I interviewed with a member of the admission committee via skype. The interview itself was fairly short at only 30 minutes or so and was very straight forward. It began with me going through my resume and giving a brief overview of the different positions that I've held. The next questions were about my rationale for pursuing an MBA, my reason for wanting to go to USC, and my post graduate plans, both short and long term. No behavioral based questions from what I can recall, which was nice because I'm not a huge fan of them. I asked her a few questions regarding USC as a commuter school and about exchange programs and that was pretty much it. Overall, the interviewer was extremely friendly and easy to interact with.

Hopefully some of you will find this at least a little informative. If there's anything else you'd like to know that I forgot to cover, feel free to ask. Good luck to all of you with your applications.

Hi CaliCan,

Although I was accepted to the MBA.PM program and not to the Full Time program, I was wondering what your admissions package consisted of? Did it have details on next steps, or was it just a formal acceptance letter? I got my call last Monday, paid my deposit and I'm still waiting for my package.

Thanks!

Hey guys did anybody receive an interview invite today?

Just spoke to admissions and they said all interview invitations have gone out already. I guess today was the last day.
For those who have no received an invitation, does your online status say submitted or in process?

If this is true, then there is no point in expecting an invite. I do, however, think it's weird that NOBODY on this forum received any news on Feb. 15, especially when the round 1 counterpart final date resulted in many invites. STRANGE.

Having read the posts since Feb 7th, it seems no one acknowledged to having received an invite since the 1st wave went out, so unless they gave out all the invites in 2 days, something definitely doesn't add up...

I received a package from Fedex which consisted of an acceptance letter, a car sticker, and a fairly hefty binder outlining all the next steps in the process. The binder had a section explaining the school, it's values, the program itself, course descriptions, welcome week info, details for obtaining a student visa, information on financial assistance, etc. Also from what I understand, if you've received a fellowship, you'll get notification in the form of a letter with this package.

I called up USC now and they told me also that all invites have been sent out. Now it will either be a waitlist or a rejection. :-(

That makes me think there was a system error.

How come nobody got it?

It is statistically impossible that no one for the forum gets an interview on the date.

Exactly, what they told me they didn't. And even if that was the case, How many people got the invitation on the 7th?
Only explanation would be that they had a great pool of round 1 applicants.

Alright. Spoke with admissions yesterday. They clarified that applications are being reviewed and interview invites are sent from time to time. No need to go check status on online page because that is not updated until the actual decision is taken on April 1st for all Round 2 applicants.

I am not sure what happens to all candidates who are rejected or waitlisted. If they are notified earlier or only on April 1st. May be someone from Round 1 applicant pool might help. But, more importantly - if you haven't heard from them don't assume you are rejected. Stay clam and keep your fingers crossed.
