Based on last year's thread they announced most dings two weeks before the decision notification date and the phone calls started going out on the Monday of decision notification week. I don't know whether things have changed this year. I'd say people who have already interviewed shouldn't be affected by people just getting interview invites in terms of timing. I really hope that some of you get to hear this coming week, a friend of mine is in that group so I am almost just as impatient as you guys.
nink and treehugger; thanks for the information. I was hoping for an admission without an interview since there are only two weeks to the deadline. Anyway, I can't do anything but hoping for an invite soon
I kind of lost hope since I hadn't received an interview yet, but seems that submitting new materials, claryfing goals, new recommendations and keep in contact expressing interest made the effect ...

Pretty much the blueprint for successfully getting off the WL. Sounds like she executed it perfectly.
I have already been interviewed at SOM, and am excitedly and anxiously awaiting a decision. In the meantime my girlfriend was admitted to a masters program at RISD. SOM is my first choice with or without the added benefit of being close to my girlfriend, but this only further supports my decision of SOM as my top choice. Is it worthwhile writing the admissions committee about this personal development to further convey to them that they are indeed my top choice?

No. Understand your situation but do not send any updates unless you are waitlisted, etc. If you are R2, you have to sit tight and let them do their job. It's a crappy advice and it's not something any R2 applicant wants to hear but, there's nothing you can do at this point.
I also got the generic email regarding living in New Heaven, you would think that they should this email to only admitted people! I wouldn't jump to any conclusion and I will just ignore this email for now.
