I am a R2 applicant and no word yet.
Was anybody admitted without an interview? Does ad-com interview all potential candidates before admission?

nink and treehugger; thanks for the information. I was hoping for an admission without an interview since there are only two weeks to the deadline. Anyway, I can't do anything but hoping for an invite soon :)

I kind of lost hope since I hadn't received an interview yet, but seems that submitting new materials, claryfing goals, new recommendations and keep in contact expressing interest made the effect ... :)

Pretty much the blueprint for successfully getting off the WL. Sounds like she executed it perfectly.

I have already been interviewed at SOM, and am excitedly and anxiously awaiting a decision. In the meantime my girlfriend was admitted to a masters program at RISD. SOM is my first choice with or without the added benefit of being close to my girlfriend, but this only further supports my decision of SOM as my top choice. Is it worthwhile writing the admissions committee about this personal development to further convey to them that they are indeed my top choice?

No. Understand your situation but do not send any updates unless you are waitlisted, etc. If you are R2, you have to sit tight and let them do their job. It's a crappy advice and it's not something any R2 applicant wants to hear but, there's nothing you can do at this point.

Did everyone just get a genetic e-mail from SOM about living in New Haven?

I also got the generic email regarding living in New Heaven, you would think that they should this email to only admitted people! I wouldn't jump to any conclusion and I will just ignore this email for now.

To clarify, did you interview before or after you were WL'd? If after, when did you get the invite?
