Just called Yale. The lady confirmed that results will be out at 5pm EST, not before.

I really hate to say it, but I know what that means

I know what you're saying, but I really dont think they've finished calling all the admits. It's not possible especially given that many interviews were conducted this week and also the low number of admits reported on GC. Maybe they're just deviating from what they've done in previous rounds.

Yes, it's possible to be waitlisted without interview.

Not to add fuel to the speculation fire raging already in this thread, but for the R1 decisions, people called and got that same response. A few hours later, the admits started getting calls.

Good luck everyone.

I don't want to raise any false hope (god knows that you guys are suffering enough) but compared to previous 2 yrs, I don't think enough ppl were admitted in R2 yet. Hopefully, they will start calling soon to US admits.

And regarding the 5pm thing someone mentioned earlier, I think the lady meant that decisions will be posted at 5pm. I don't think she was implying that if anyone's admitted today, they won't be called. They always call US admits.

So cautiously, good luck everyone.

I don't think they have finished calling at all. It is pretty improbable that no one on GC got called. Also, asians have not been informed yet either! I think they are just doing some thing different by releasing all decision in one go at the stipulated time. Lot of colleges do so.

what does that mean?

It means that Yale has ALWAYS called admitted students in the US. I've combed back through all the previous years gmat club forums and I can't find one instance where Yale sent out mass acceptance emails when they could have called. Internationals are typically the only ones to get an email notification on decision date- every now and then a US student that wasn't called gets an email acceptance but it turned out that they couldn't be reached by phone etc etc.

I really hope I'm wrong.

It's not even lunch time yet in New Haven and they were interviewing right up until yesterday - let's give them a chance. We've all worked on projects where we had to work like mad right up to the deadline, maybe this is just one of those times. Besides, this has been a very long process over many months for all of us (from booking the GMAT to studying, taking the test, applications, interviews and weeks of waiting already), so a few more hours doesn't seem so bad. Take a walk, watch the cricket, heck, even focus on something at work, and all shall be revealed in due course! (And I promise to follow my own advice :wink:

)

Anyway, I'm sure we'll be seeing some good news from gmatclubbers before the end of the day... I'll look forward to coming back and reading some success stories later on!

This wait is excruciating.

Especially since this is a culmination of a year's work and a positive decision could have a significant impact on an applicant's life.

I've already checked this page 50 times in the last 5 hours.
