Guess I'll find out soon enough if they appreciated me scenting my thank you note with cologne.

One way or another, it's about time there's movement on your WL status.
You got scholarship money from Cornell, anyway. In the end, you will be getting world-class business education in the fall.

so besides brainchild, who's actively trying to get off the WL? And what steps have you taken so far?

I was WL'ed on Round 1, and they invited me to interview a few days ago with 2 admission officers. Before that, I had been sending updates (maybe once a month) and asked for a new recommendation from one of my former professors.

i also went on the tour last Thursday when T Boone came to campus, got to come and see the Navigating Organizations class :D

I am! I am!

WL'ed first round. I've written two letters of updates/continued interest and had one rec written by a boss and another written by a current student.

I'm not sure how I should approach the next few months though. Do you have any suggestions?

I am actively trying to get off of the WL as well. Applied in R1, interviewed in November, waitlisted in December. I submitted an additional LOI, and essays to Admissions based on the FAQs and feedback. I got my continued WL notification today and am contemplating my strategy. Anyone who has advice, I would greatly appreciate it!

Congrats to those who made it!

Totally agree. I'll most likely end up at Cornell (I've turned the color blue after all) but if I get SOM movement before the Johnson deposit deadline I'll definitely have to consider my options. I'll be thrilled to go to either school.

does your application status just says the last December waitlist announcement then? have u tried calling them?

Ya my application status page just has the Dec letter. I haven't tried calling them, but I think I'll just wait patiently -- I'm sure they have enough stressed out applicants calling!

Maybe I should have used Drakkar Noir instead of Davidoff Cool Water? *shrug*

was notified today that I would remain on the waitlist as well! So far, I have sent an essay, LOI, 2 additional recommendation letters ( 1 from previous supervisor, and 1 from an EC ), and any new EC's / work updates I have.

any recommendations to get off the waitlist would be greatly appreciated as well!

A couple of years ago it was about 200-250. I don't know if that's changed.

Just got the continuing waitlist status update. That settles it for me, I'm going to Johnson. I've withdrawn from the SOM waitlist.

Good luck to everyone!

Sorry to hear that. You've been one of the most active persons of this forum, clearly you were VERY interested in Yale SOM.

Ya as I went through the application process SOM moved to the top of my list. So I'm definitely a little disappointed, but that's outweighed by my excitement to attend Cornell!

Good luck to you future Yalies, and I look forward to setting up a game between the Johnson hockey team and the SOM hockey team. Maybe we can do a home-and-home series? We can come play at your funny looking ski-jump rink, and then you guys can come to the middle of nowhere to play at our barn. Of course in any case it's all just an excuse to drink more beer.

Besides the ones highlighted in BLUE in the Roll Call sheet, who else will be attending YSOM for sure in the Fall?
