Interesting nisi, that could very well be why we got waitlisted. We both submitted GRE scores instead of GMAT's. Who knows though.

btk, congrats on the invite! My assumption all along was that Yale would use the diversity weekend as a way to court their minority interviews with the ultimate goal of building their yield (assuming you guys are actually admitted).

yes, i think so too..it could be because we submitted GRE scores..i actually spoke to the admissions guy about my exam on nov 1 and he was the one who suggested submitting GRE scores.lets wait..there might be some people who are not going and hopefully we can fill in their spots! :)

I don't know if submitting GREs hurts one's chances. I did, and have gotten an interview invite. All the best!

Interesting tidbit of information in the latest Yale SOM Admissions Newsletter. According to the article, dated 10/21, "Right now, for example, we have extended roughly a third of the invitations planned for the first round, so there are many still to come."

EDIT: The article is now updated to today's date, and reflects that HALF of the invitations went out, not a third.

Encouraging news for all who have not yet received invites. If you want to read the rest of the newsletter:

Note that the date of the article was changed to today as well. So it looks like they may be updating that as they go along.

The speed at which they're progressing is really great. I'm dying to know whether they'll start releasing decisions at this speed as well.

I scheduled my interview in late November, thinking that they won't release decisions until the decision date, but if anyone has an earlier interview and receives a decision before the decision date please share.
My guess about the newsletter is that when they wrote the article it was a third of the interviews but when they published it - today it was already half. Half is still pretty good, though!

Well students from prior years say last year was everyone on the decision date, and the year before had people getting their decisions ahead of time. The SOM website states "We notify applicants of decisions throughout the application round. Depending on the round in which you applied, your decision timing will be different. The latest you will hear from us is by the decision deadline for the round in which you applied." That could be pulled either way :)

hi guys,

stupid question probably - but we are all in the same boat :) so hope you`ll forgive me :)

In my application checklist all the components are ready for review except TOEFL score (Awaiting).
Does it mean that my application has not been reviewed? right?

Hi,

Hey guys!

Just wanted to give a little insight for those of you that will be interviewing. I had mine yesterday and everyone was extremely nice (obviously).

Interview was 30min, but we went over a little (seems like they build enough time in the schedule to go over 5-10min).. my interviewer gave me his background, then we dove into my story. he asked me to run through my resume, why mba, why now, why yale. very basic, expected questions.

hope that helps a little - best of luck to everyone! :)
