Specifically:
Linda Abraham: Let's turn to a couple of the applicants' questions. Weigh asks, "I read the blog that about half the invites for interviews have been given out. When will the other half be given out, and will it be in a batch?"

Bruce DelMonico: That is correct. Our e-newsletter went out earlier this week, and actually I've been remiss in my personal blogging, but I do plan to blog about that shortly. About half of our invitations have gone out by now, and the rest will go out between now and mid-December, which is when our decision notification deadline is. Obviously we want to get those out as soon as possible, and not wait till the end of the round. They won't go out in batch fashion; they will primarily go out individually or in smaller batches. I think that most of the activity will be happening between now and a little after Thanksgiving in the States, so that is early December. But we are trying to go through applications as quickly as possible so that we can get those invitations out as soon as we can.
Thank you for posting a link to the transcipt!!! That was very awesome....

I think Bruce is saying that all but a small handful of invites will be sent out by early December. The wording in this question states that invites re sent out "individually or in smaller batches"... then continues to read that "most of the activity will be happening BETWEEN now and a little after thanksgiving" (Nov 25)... in part of another answer he says "And when I say that we can invite people up until mid-December which is when our decision deadline is, it's really only a very small handful of people who are invited at that point."

What this sounds like is that if we don't hear back by Dec 1, then we should move on with our school hunt.
Remember that 2 weeks ago, on Oct 25th, the admissions office said that roughly half the invitations had been sent out.

All in all, I guess there is still hope, how much, i don't know. But i know all this is overanalyzing and no one knows, but hey... overanalyzing is what we do :)

kudos me if u like :)

Has anyone who's interviewed had their interview go complete on the application site?
estreet
I have.

Went to complete I think 2 or 3 days after the interview.

On a different note:

I keep catching myself doing math with the numbers that have been posted on here....the waiting game....

Might as well share:

2790 applicants with 29% interview rate = 809 total interviews

2790 applicants with 18% acceptance rate = 502 total accepted

502 total accepted with 44% yield = 221 matriculating

So far nothing novel here, now here is what I feel the split between rounds may look like:

I have no hard evidence for this, it is purely my speculation!!!

Admissions Targets:

R1: 90 Admits
R2: 100 Admits
R3 30 Admits

In my opinion, these goals reflect that the highest volume of applications is in R2, yet schools want to secure good applicants from R1 while having some room for great candidates from R3. If I was adcom that is what I would strive for, but again all SPECULATION.

Those numbers, with 18% acceptance rates, 44% yield and 29% interview rates would translate to:

R1: 90 Admits, 205 Accepted, 330 Interviews, 1139 Applicants

R2: 100 Admits, 227 Accepted, 366 Interviews, 1263 Applicants

R3: 30 Admits, 68 Accepted, 110 Interviews, 380 Applicants

That would also equate to a 62% acceptance post interview rate (205/330).

Anyhow, don't lynch me this is all just killing time....

I haven't. Don't worry, I'm sure your interview last year blew them away and this year the application just went into the admit pile early on.

I just want to share with everyone that Explore Diversity was awesome, the energy throughout the whole event was just amazing and I feel very priviledged to have attended.
However, a lot of the people I talked to were either completely convinced that this was the school for them or completely convinced that it wasn't. So, I would suggest that if you have not visited, you definitely should because Yale is a very particular school and it attracts a particular type of personalities and you can't really get that from the website.
Thanks to all the current students who came out to hang out with us and really spent a lot of their time dedicating themselves to us.

Is anyone here have done the interview through skype..? Would really appreciate if someone can give me some insights into the process. Also, do all international applicants get Skype Interview or there are some with Alumni interviews too..?
Best of luck to everyone who are waiting... Don't lose hope :)
Cheers...!!!

I don't know buddy... I knew my interview did blow them away last year and I know my profile supposedly stronger this year... but this whole process is so subjective that we just can't make sense of anything...

What's your situation like? Did you get feedback from them last year? I didn't, so I'm not even 100% sure where it went wrong last year.

Ounce, Cyber1,

I was interviewed and wait-listed last year, no interview invite this year either. So, it looks like we are all in the same boat. At this point, I don't think there is much else you can do. You've written a lot of essays, you've clearly indicated interest in attending and you worked at improving your profile. As much as we're looking for answers, reading the tea leaves, I think no news is no news. Good luck to both of you!

I did get feedback last year. My feedback was "Your profile is great, there just wasn't enough room. If anything, maybe another year of work experience?" It was encouraging, but not particularly helpful. I thought my interview went well and like the rest of us re-applicants, my reapplication was surely better than last years , so who knows. It is stressful though, and I'm glad I've got both ounce and ntenzer to empathize with!

Bruce DelMonico just posted an update on his blog...
https://blogs.som.yale.edu/

"Now that roughly a month has passed since our first application deadline, I thought it would be a good time to give a quick update on where we stand in the process. We’re still very much in the midst of reviewing applications and sending out interview invitations. At this point, we’ve extended roughly two-thirds of the invitations that we will ultimately send out for the round. Although this means that the majority of invitations have already gone out, it also means that we still have many more left to extend. We hope to invite the remaining candidates as soon as possible to give people enough time to schedule their interview before our December 16 Round 1 decision notification date.

At the same time that we are reviewing applications, we are also continuing to offer ways to connect with the Yale SOM community and learn more about the school. For example, among other events, we are hosting an online chat with international students on December 10; I will personally be holding an application tips chat on November 18; and we will have our annual Open House event here on campus on December 3. A full list of events is on our website."

two thirds? that's not so bad! still many more to come. i figured way more than two thirds had gone out since they said half had awhile ago. i think that's reason to be optimistic.

also, thanks tucrew.

And, if ThomasD's numbers are somewhat accurate above (and I think they are), then that's still over a 100 interview invites to go.

Yeah I was about to say the same.

While GC members are only a minute portion of the total applicant pool, no invitation for quite a long time. Look at last year's - it was like 70% invited. I think before Thanksgiving would be the key period.
