Can nebody tell me if the rate same for silver scholars..?

I believe I recall that during one of the online chats they mentioned that they accept ~10 silver scholars p.a. out of approximately 150 candidates. No word about the number interviewed and admitted though.

From the realm of speculation:
Given that not all top programs have a program like the silver scholars or HBS2+2 program, I can see their yields being higher than for their regular program. I suppose that would immediately translate to less people interviewed and more of those interviewees being accepted.
Then again, this logic may be completely flawed in that they may interview a lot more silver scholars, as those are younger adults and they may want to take a much closer look a maturity and personality.

Who knows....Happy Turkey Day to you all
thnks.. :)
Well now based on your data n my approximate estimates (if my approximations are correct) arnd 38 must have been interviewed out of which 10 will be accepted.
Best of luck to all n Happy Thanksgiving..!

I visited YSOM in 2008. If I feel like I know enough about the school, is there any point to trying to attend the upcoming open house? I mean, do you think adcoms would look favorably on another visit?

After I received a mail about the next Open House on Dec 3rd, I tried to secure a week off (I'm an international) to make the trip from my country to New Haven. Now that I finally have secured the time and resource, the registration seems closed!

Do you think it's fine to contact the admissions office to ask for an extended registration? Or should I just wait for the next Open House, (which I don't know if coming up)? As I am applying during the 2nd round, I really wanted to be on campus before submitting my application.

You can call them after the holiday wknd and ask them. I would simply call and see if they can arrange something for you after explaining your special circumstances. Make sure that you mention that you are very interested in YSOM, and you are an international student, etc.

There's no guarantee but if there's space, admissions office usually work something out with individual applicants. Also, don't be too disappointed if they can't work something out for you. The purpose of registration is usually for planning purposes. But they are usually flexible unless it's going to be too difficult for whatever reason they have.

Thanks for the tip! I'll contact the office after the weekend. It'd be great to see the campus and visit New Haven.

Hi, all

I am an international applicant and have done the interview early this month. However, the system now just appeares "interview complete" without "received". Does anyone interviewed have the same situation?

thanks

I am international as well and if this helps any, my status reads as follows:

Date Details
10.xx.2010 Interview Complete
10.xx.2010 Interview Scheduled: 10.xx.2010 (xx:45 AM)
10.xx.2010 Interview Requested
10.07.2010 Payment Received: 220.00 USD
10.07.2010 Received: Application

As for the xx, they list actual dates, I just substituted those in here. Been like that for a good month now.

Hi, Thomas

It's great to have your reply. My status reads the same as yours. Don't know other's situations, yet I saw some mention theirs appears "complete" and "received"... Seems that we have to wait now...

Probably won't do much good. Unless you have a strong urge to do it (i.e. - as a hailmary kind of thing that may or may not impact on your application), I don't think attending another Open House is going to be a significant factor.

Ok YSOM, I think you've built up enough suspense. Just go ahead and send me that interview invitation already. I know you're trying to make it extra special for me by waiting until the end to send it, but I'm ready. Honest.

Does anyone know from previous year's whether Yale typically re-interview reapplicants?

Has anyone who has been interviewed received an admission offer yet? Does the school release all offers on a single day (Dec 16?)? Thanks!

Yes, for Round 1 there is one notification date for everyone - December 16. That's what Bruce has said on forums and blogs.

I wonder how many interview invites are left? I can't imagine a significant number at this point. This board has been all about interviews and only like 1 invite in the past month.

Yes I doubt that they have too many interview invites left. They may be keeping a couple of reserves just in case, but I would think that they're now busy making decisions among the ones interviewed, and the ones that will go straight to waitlist without an interview. Only two weeks left with hundreds of applications to go through.

So, fairly confident that this is a negative sign, but I formerly had an "interview complete" status on my application profile - that just recently disappeared.

I am a wait-listed re-applicant, conversations with the AdCom earlier this fall indicated that if the first interview went well (feedback seemed to indicate this was not an issue) there was no need to re-interview, but now this. Does anyone have any thoughts on the matter - pretty disheartening.
