What are you other WLers doing as far as sending additional materials? I'm working on a combined "restate and clarify my career goals" and "reiterate my keen interest in YSOM" essay.

Also, it seems that the vast majority of WLers were interviewed before being WLed, but I wasn't. Any theories on what this might mean? Something? Nothing?

If you were waitlisted without interview then you should also request for interview. I donno what it means to be WL'ed without interview but you can ask the admission consultants forum on gmatclub, they would know better. From what I've heard retaking GMAT or a promotion at work helps but only if your profile is weak in these areas. HTH.

I do not think the op has any weaknesses in those two fields GMAT 780 and WE seems pretty good.
Which make me think what does the AdCom really want from their MBA applicants?

The same thing that cougars look for. OP is 5 years older than the average age. I think btk's suggestion is really good...requesting for on-campus interview in a subtle way.

LOL, quite true. I used to get hit on by cougers all the time, but now not so much.

A campus visit is a great suggestion, don't know why I didn't think of it. I'll be in NYC in January, so it will work out well.

Same here. Waitlist without an interview, not sure what it means.. Are we the second-tier of the waitlist?

Hey how do the admitted decisions come out? Only via phone? Or also via status check on the application?

Atleast for R1, they called the admitted students 2 days prior to the decision release date.

Did any of the accepted students receive their admissions packet yet? I am curious to see what scholarship package I received.

I didn't get my admission packet yet. I was told they were going to be mailed early this week. Were you told you received a scholarship during your call?

Yes, phone but also via status check on decision day - on the applciation page it's above all other notifications.

Usually, you will receive it within a week of the decision date.

Hi nink,

Thanks for your postings about Yale SOM. I benefit a lot from it.

I got in at R1 this year... and now I'm thinking about planning and preparing in advance because I want to switch from strategy consulting to investment banking.

Could you give me some advice on what I could do during the next 8 months or so? Thanks a lot.
