Oh I just remembered. Yesterday there were some members who sent me PMs asking about the possibility of doing a Skype/phone interview for Darden. I sent the school an email this morning and they said they only offer campus interviews for US-based applicants. So, I'm going to have to fly over there some time this month or early March.

Not a lot of vacation days and $$$ for me right now.

My question---> If I am invited to interview with let's say Dartmouth (which I did not self-initiate,) Cornell or Yale, will they require you to visit the campus too?

I know Yale lets you interview off campus if you can't visit.

Got an invite from Tuck about an hour ago. For the "conspiracy theorists" out there, I ranked them #1

I know we had a pretty informative discussion on this forum on the ranking methodologies. I would have ranked Yale 1st, Tuck 2nd and then Cornell. Cornell is known to be more insensitive to rankings, but Yale and Tuck are super sensitive. Nonetheless, wait till Friday before drawing any conclusions. I think you may still have a chance!

So Yale only gives out Consortium interviews on Fridays? Hmmm

I think they send out invites in waves, and that wave happens to be on Fridays...

I feel like I'm Debbie downer, but I received my invite on a Thursday afternoon. I really don't think there is a rhyme or reason to when invites go out.

What I meant was, Yale gives out their interview invites on Fridays. :)

EDIT: Since you said you got yours on Thursday, people here are probably just getting a little paranoid :)

Just curious. You are based in the US right? Did they give you an option to do a Skype interview or did they require you to interview in campus?

I am in the US and I didn't ask about a Skype interview. Everything that I've heard about Tuck suggests that they are pretty adamant about prospectives interviewing on campus. I believe that they want to see that intersest. In fact, the invite email said "strongly encourage" in bold and underlined! I don't want to ruffle any feathers by not visiting...

I would suggest taking a portfolio, or "pad folio" that has fresh high-quality copies of your resume and blank paper (in case you choose to take notes). I would not necessarily suggest taking notes - unless something jumps out at you - but it present a prepared, interested candidate (in my opinion).

I also often choose to write out some of the questions I have for the school/interviewer on a sheet and bring it with me. Hope this helps, and if others have thoughts let's hear them.

I was offered to interview via skype. I would highly recommend visiting the campus if you want any chance to get offered admission.

JacksonCinco, thank you very much for your input. I was thinking the same thing. I'm flying tonight to Ann Arbor.
