Has anyone had issues inputting the email address for the mission reccomender? it looks like we can only input that information after we have filled out the misson essay section. Do the mission reccomenders only submit their rec after the application has been submitted?

In the recommendation section it states
"Please list the identities and e-mail addresses of the three people who will submit recommendations on your behalf. The system will generate and send instructions directly to the recommenders."
I was only able to submit the info for 2 of my recommenders, am I missing something? Is there a third entry missing or do the instructions simply have a typo?
Same issue I was having. In the Mission section of the application, it asks for the email address of the mission reccomender.. but it doesnt look like it sends anything.. Has anyone already sent their recommender the form?
I just typed 'placeholder' in the essay box, filled out the rec name and email, then hit send. I'll see if I can get confirmation my person received an email. But yeah, it'd be nice if the system gave you distribution information like the regular recommendation section.
I tried method's placeholder trick and my Mission Recommender didn't get the email. My professional recommenders got theirs though. Anyone heard anything on how to get the Mission reco form out?
I applied to CGSM schools a few years ago (Tuck, Simon, Johnson) and I'd be glad to offer any advice on the essay process. I spent 3 years applying to business school! Although I ended up not going to business school to pursue a technology start-up, I remember feeling like the world was coming to an end with all these essays. I'm also writing a free resource blog at MBAwritersblock, com in case you're interested in getting pointers. I JUST started this a week ago so there aren't a lot of posts. But I'll be blogging fairly often about things I learned along the way.
Hey all! I called the Consortium yesterday to try to figure out why my Mission recommender wasn't getting the recommendation email. Just a heads up, if you opt out of emails from the Consortium then this will inhibit the MISSION email from getting to your recommender. Just call the Consortium and get it taken care of and an email will go out the next day. Hope this helps anyone who may need it.
I shall see some of in a few hours at Discover Stern!
Just finished up Discover Stern this afternoon. That was one jam packed schedule. Happy to report that I met johnnygmat there!

It was great meeting you there as well cheetarah It was a busy weekend and luckily I was able to catch up on some much needed sleep on Sunday. I really enjoyed the event, and Stern is def my no1 Consoritum school. Were there any other GMAT Clubbers there?
I wont be at JMB next week, but I was up there this past Wed and loved it. I'm kind of upset I wont be able to go to JMB now.
Around 20 days before the deadline. I might not finish, thinking of a back up plan. Are there any disadvantages applying R2? Outside scholarship opportunities, will it affect the spots in schools?
Also, is there a difference submitting everything on the first week of R2 vs. submitting on the deadline itself?

I've been told from Berkeley and USC that there is absolutely no difference in applying Consortium Rd1 vs Rd2, even in regards to scholarships. It's a school by school basis and I haven't asked the other schools about it. I hope there's some difference though since I'm ready to hit the submit button within a week.

When I went to NYU, they said there's really no difference between Consortium R1 and R2. From reading last year's thread, many people who applied in November still had to wait until March to learn about admissions decisions. I guess the benefit to R1 is to get it out of the way, especially if you have R2 apps to non Consortium schools coming up.

I gotcha. Thanks for the info.
I didn't expect drafting essays would be this difficult. I've already asked a lot of my friends for help, and I am thinking of hiring a consultant now. I never imagined I would do that. I thought after the GMAT everything will be easier!
Hi guys, not a lot Darden, Ross, or CMU talk on here, mostly NYU, Cornell, and Haas. Just wondering if the location draws people away from it. These three are all top 10-20 schools. Anyway, I'm an 5.5 year Army officer, born abroad, and applying through the consortium with UVA as my first choice. Wondering if anyone else is on the same boat? Anyway, Rd. 1 is approaching....writing essays for six schools......sucks! good luck to you all.
