Thanks. Feels great to finally have an admit. This waiting period has been THE WORST.

Congrats man!! My one biggest regret in this process is not applying to USC. I was so decided I wanted to leave Los Angeles, now I am kinda uncertain about it.

I'm happy for you! You can def. relax now. It's a good time to go through Craigslist and see apartments around the Socal area.

Yeah man, after I got that first admit, I was GOOD, so I totally know how you feel. Go out and celebrate this weekend, man.

has anyone heard anything from the consortium after being accepted at one of the schools? I know they release decisions on the 15th, but I was expecting a "Congrats for getting into one of our partner schools" email sooner than 3/15

After the first admit, IN MY OPINION, is when you start waiting for the $$$ to come.

When I applied, I didn't even bother to think of funding. Now after the first admit, I am waiting for $$$ offers.

I totally agree, when I was applying, I wouldve just been happy to get in anywhere, now I'm waiting to see who gives me more money, lol.

If you do end up going to USC check out apartments by LA Live, yes it's expensive as hell, but worth EVERY penny of it and only 2 miles from Marshall. That's where you'll find me if I end up at SC. I happen to currently live in So Cal btw.

I also currently live in Socal. But I don't know about living in DTLA. Outside the 4 miles radius by the Staples center, it gets really shady.

There are some nice apartments nearby USC. You can even get a place by Santa Monica (near UCLA), that area is sweet. West LA is the best part of town, and is like a 20-25 minute drive.

Also, you'll need a car too :)

thanks guys! cost of living is definitely a concern... I have a car but am used to midwest living where the square footage is cheap. but again... fellowship notification will determine a lot.... Alas the wait contines.

I used to live at Metro 417 in downtown. Would definitely recommend it to everyone and anyone. Great spot, and only a few miles from campus.

Culver City is the best combination of affordable, safe and convenient. If you take surface streets, you're about 7 miles from campus, but will also live close to everywhere (Venice, South Bay, West LA, downtown, OC, etc).

I'd recommend Culver City if you can find a place around 800 bucks. But if you can find a good deal around the West LA area (my girlfriend pays $950/mo for a studio)---it is absolutely awesome.

So I may have gotten my first admit...

I logged into my Emory page to see if they released decisions early and there were 7 things in my to do list starting with "Acceptance Agreement"... Anyone in the same boat? Any clue if this means I'm in?

I think you may have, my friend, the same thing happened to me, I happened to log on to OPUS one day and saw that To Do List as well, but when I clicked on decision it said it wasn't available yet. The next day when I got into work I got an email from Emory prompting to check my decision, which said I was accepted, and the next day I got the call from my interviewer. This may mean you got it, though I haven't heard of it happening to anyone else, so I'm not 100%, but keeping my fingers crossed for you!

Oh and I had my interview yesterday at Darden. The campus was amazing. Students were very friendly. I had a real good time and I could totally see myself there.

I am just a little upset at myself for ranking them 6 out of 6. I know most consortium applicants here were waitlisted, so I am trying not to get my hopes up.

In any case, does anybody here know any admitted applicant from Darden who ranked them 6/6?
