to ED, Nov applicants or 2011 Tuck applicants: does Tuck conduct background checks? i.e. Kroll or others...if yes, when? i am concerned about my current employer (need-to-know stuff)

I don't recall filling out any separate paperwork for a background checking firm after matriculating.

Rejected.

Last year I was interviewed via skype, than after rejection I was encouraged to ask for feedback and reapply next year (i.e. this year). I my essays I showed improvement in almost all areas, repplied this year again and received ding, without any interview invite.

I am wondering why I was encouraged to ask for feedback, reapply and then be rejected again?!!!

More and more I think the MBA application process if a big joke. I guess you'll agree with me.

Agree.
I think any school encourages rejected candidates to reapply for statistics sake as well.
Schools also compete, and the aceptance rates are the figures like gmat for us.
The lower the admission rate the more a school is perceived by other applicants slective/exclusive/demanded. Schools need a crowd of hoping guys just to booost their statistics. And they do it on our cost and time.

Tuck Mentions that their feedback is sincere so I won't question that intent.perhaps, you didn't as well that's why you re applied.may be the application pool is stronger this year . All the best for future.

Has anyone from R2 (January) got a ding/accept as yet?
Have not heard anything from the school as yet.

Wonder if its such a bad thing after all, except for the nervous waiting game.

[quote="batman28"]Umm.

Too early to hear from Tuck for R2 applicants. No need to worry until mid March

Thanks a lot, just getting anxious now ...

You won't hear until the decision date or a couple of days before.

Hi,

Has any of the Waitlisters (from EA and R1) heard back from the Adcom / Waitlist Manager yet? For some reason, I thought Dawna mentioned in her most recent video that we would hear by the end of last week.

Happy President's Day everyone!

Nope. I saw the video as well and was expecting something, but haven't received word. Seems like we've got to wait a bit longer.

Please,...I need guidance on my scholarship essay. How did some of you approach it?

Also, does the essay have ANY impact on admissions or is it strictly for fin aid purposes?

I attended a Q&A during my campus visit and was told it had no bering on admissions whatsoever - the scholarship application goes to the fin aid office while the admissions essays go to the adcom and neither group sees the other file.

As far as the approach, I used a combination of stories from different essay questions along with a few new wrinkles to hopefully put together a bio that touched on past experiences, current ventures, and future goals. Didn't receive a scholarship with my admit phone call but keeping fingers crossed for something down the line.

Good luck!

Yes. Scholarship essay is separate than the main application and is not considered while making an acceptance/ding decision.
