Tuck 2012 - Calling All Applicants

I am not aware of this "before 7 days" trend but we do have 2 events coming up:

Mumbai - 11/2
Hyderabad - 11/7

If these events are chosen I hope people who are not in these cities get sufficient time to book air tickets.

Does anyone know if Tuck informs you in which round your application is being considered for.

I submitted on Oct 12, in time for the EA round, and today it says app completed on Oct 24. All my materials were in by Oct 12, so I am suspecting that they matched the various components of my app (rec, gmat score etc) on Oct 24.

So would it be correct to assume that I am still in the running for the EA round?

Yes, you are still in the running for the EA round. I had the same question, and spoke with someone in the admissions office. They clarified for me that the "app completion" status is only relative to when the admissions committee has "processed" all of our materials and has verified they are not missing anything. Good luck - only 7 weeks to go.

7 of the longest weeks in recent memory!

I am literally counting down the days till the Tuck Notification date....I love everything about the school (I used to compete in snowboarding competitions making Tuck's NH location even more appealing!) I think the people I met at Tuck were by far the most down to earth and friendly of any top business school. This will be a long 7 weeks waiting to hear back.

I finally received my interview invite for 11/3. It will coincide with the Tuck reception at Mumbai on 11/2. So I will be in Mumbai for 2 days. Now I am rushin to book tickets and buy myself few suits (previously I had only one which I neve wore and now does not fit me).

So everyone, please wish me luck.

Any tips on how to prepare? and what is the ratio of those selected for interview and those receving admits?

I'm in the same boat as WashingtonDC (including being from the DC area!). I visited Tuck for my interview last week and had the same experience.

My interviewer was a 2nd year and we met in one of the group study rooms. She was great and made the whole thing feel really comfortable. She came out in the beginning and told me "In this interview I am just trying to get to know who you are PAST the words on the page" so she wasn't really looking to trip me up. We kind of jumped right into the interview and she asked all the questions washingtondc listed. However, she was able to weave them into what felt like a conversation. Instead of reading down a checklist of what she had to ask, she just let the interview flow wherever it went, interjecting for clarification and follow-up. Afterwards I was able to ask her questions and chat with her about her time at Tuck.

The whole thing lasted about 45 min but it all felt like a blur. I prepared hard for the interview as I am a basic candidate with a so-so GPA (3.13) so I too knew I needed to kill it in the interview. I felt like it went really well but what do I know!

I'm applying Nov round, so now that I've interviewed, I'm just finishing up essays and won't hear back from Tuck until the decision date in February. Talk about a long wait.

There is an event planned in Singapore on 11/9 as per Tuck website and so you should be hearing pretty soon.

No invite for the mumbai event for me...

Hi Everyone, had my interview with Adcom yesterday. The interviewer was very nice. I got my invitation one day before the interview, and the adcom will interview 20-30 (I guess) applicants before the information session event in Shanghai this Monday. She will fly to Beijing and Taipei, not sure if there is Singapore after that. Good luck, everyone!
