Hi everyone,
First ever post here. Been a lurker for some time now. Was placed on the WL. Applied in EA Round.
Anyone with advice on how to get off the WL? Tuck's truly my first choice.
Thanks!

Confused. Why would they need to test your English proficiency considering they've interviewed u already.[/quote]

From what I understand from one of the questions asked during the visit to the school, they call those again where they have a slight doubt and try to fill the gap.. hopefully they did fill it

srjaidev, from my interaction with an Indian student at Tuck, it doesn't matter so much for an international to not have an on-campus interview, as they understand that it is not possible for every international applicant to get to Hanover for interview

Hello all,

Quick question for those who have trekked up to Hanover. What is the best way to get there from Boston? I'm flying in from the Midwest. Heard there is a shuttle one could take from Logan. Or is it just best to drive from Boston?

Thanks

I rented a car and it was ~$40 total (for one day) and about $30 or $35 in gas - the liberty of getting around on my own time schedule was worth it

The bus would have been around the same if not more given I was able to stay at a much cheaper hotel farther away...parking at Tuck was not a problem at all either.

For me, renting a car was great, but might not be for everyone (if its snowy, you don't like driving 2 hours alone, whatever)

I took the Dartmouth shuttle from the airport, but it also stops at the train station. It is a pretty nice bus ride, the bus has wi-fi and there is water and snacks in the front seat. I think the biggest benefit was getting to talk to other Dartmouth students about their experience at the school. I stayed at Six South Hotel which was super nice, and walking distance from the b-school, but a little more pricey than other hotels farther away.

+1 This is what I did, and it gave me extra flexibility. My schedule was to work a mostly-full day then fly to Logan in the evening and drive to Hanover, spend the morning to mid-afternoon at Tuck, and then return to Logan for a 7pm flight home (to the midwest).

I didn't see schedules on the Dartmouth Coach that would allow me to keep my trip to ~24 hours, so renting was a good choice. I also used my hotel shuttle to take me to/from Tuck to avoid parking considerations, but mostly this was because I visited during a snowstorm and did not want to make the 15 minute walk in my interview suit and heels through the snow/salt/muck from the parking area to Tuck.

In any case, enjoy your visit!

Anybody who emailed in their scholarship application receive feedback that it was received? I sent it the morning of the 11th but haven't received any confirmation.

Yes. They responded to my email with a "thank you" but that's it.

I faxed (and made sure it went through) but didn't hear from Tuck, so last week I sent them a quick note to confirm and they replied to say that they had in fact received my fax.

Conclusion: they don't have a standard process for confirming scholarship application material.s

They don't necessarily confirm in every case that they have received it. Its not part of their standard MO

Batman: I'm afraid, I've had to alter my plans to visit Hanover because of an work emergency. Sorry, I was looking forward to meeting you on the 22nd for a drink and a chat about your b-school application process thus far. Good luck with the visit and rest of the process.

Anyone heading to Hanover on Jan 29th or 30th? I'm flying into Boston from the Midwest on Jan 28th and was planning on driving up to Hanover on Sunday evening or Monday morning. Could meet you for drink/dinner on either one of those evenings or can even offer a ride if you need one from Boston.

Cheers
