I got an interview invite yesterday. Anybody know the acceptance rate of admission for those that are invited to interview? Just curious.

Business Week's profile on the full-time MBA program at Gtown includes application and admissions data, and assuming that that data is accurate, the acceptance rate looks like this:

Applied to most recent class: 1,729
Applicants admitted to the most recent class: 38% (657)
Applicants invited to interview (accepted and denied): 66% (1,141)

So it looks like an applicant's chances move from 38%, at the time of submitting the application, upwards to about 58%, upon receiving an invitation to interview. That said, the interview clearly doesn't guarantee acceptance!

As an aside, because Gtown tends to be a fallback school for so many people, as evidenced in the low admissions yield of approximately 40%, Gtown puts a lot of candidates on the waitlist: 553 in the last admissions cycle, almost 32% of applicants.

BW's data (11/2009) here: https://www.businessweek.com/bschools/ra ... etown.html

With an adcom member.

Does anyone know how many people of the waitlist actually get an admit?

Business Week lists that about 23% of people make it off the waitlist (127 enrolled in the last admissions cycle out of 553 who were waitlisted).

It's probably a lot higher than that since people also remove themselves from the waitlist (myself for one).

Hi Zeith,

The full-time MBA program at Georgetown begins with a preterm at the beginning of August, and classes begin on the last day of August. You can find the academic calendar on Georgetown's website, here: https://msb.georgetown.edu/page/1242660589303

Best of luck to you!

The invite came through e-mail. No call or anything. I wonder how long it takes to get the final decision. Waiting is harder than applying

Thursday, March 25, is right around the corner! Best wishes to all R2ers!

Darn, I just got waitlisted. Any suggestions except for re-taking the GMAT?

Hi Balboa, I'm curious whether Georgetown admissions requested any additional items from you, or gave you any feedback about strengthening your application while on the waitlist?

Like Sleepy's experience, I hope admissions moves you from the waitlist to the admit pool. Best of luck to you!

No additional necessary documents were requested nor any individual feedback was provided. I was told to check out the McDonough webpage on waitlist strategies. Also, I was given a deadline to provide any supplemental documentation to improve my candidature.

Personally, I did re-take the GMAT, provided an additional letter of recommendation from my current boss as I had just started a new job at the time of my initial application and also wrote a letter of interest. I guess we will find out if it sufficed. Let's hope for the best.

So to get this straight..

The decision is posted online but you are not notified with an email? Or do you receive an email too?

You could get an admit call OR an admit email OR no word from AdCom before decisions are posted online. Don't be too worried if you don't get a call or email from AdCom. In R1, some people were not contacted and only saw the admit decision online.

Hi guys,

What time are decisions released? For international applicants, will we get calls or just emails?
