I could not get a R1 interview before the application was due. Please adjust the roll call and count me in for R2.

count me in as round 1 too

scheduled my own interview, ended up being somewhat structured, but felt very much like a "get to know you" type thing. Was a 2nd yr. doing the interview too, so it's easier to relate/converse

FYI, I attended an information session in NYC last week on November 10th, and the admissions rep stated that the first interview invites would be sent out this week (Nov 15-19). I don't remember the exact numbers given, but they interview the majority of their applicants, and it sounded as though the first batch of invites are just from the first cluster of applications they've had time to read since the deadline. Bottom Line: you may get an invite this week, but if your application is competitive and you don't get one this week, they probably just haven't gotten to you yet.

for those few who curious about interview here's a snippet of email i got from manager:

For all applicants who have not yet interviewed, please note that we take a two-pronged approach to ensure admissions decisions will be ready to be released on January 15, 2011.

• During the weeks of December 6 and 13, the admissions team will travel to a variety of worldwide locations for Global Interview Week (GIW). Invitations for GIW will be sent out within the next two weeks, including locations where interviews will be held.

We prefer face-to-face interviews. Because of this, we travel to cities around the world to conduct interviews in order to make the travel requirement for our applicants less cumbersome than a trip to Washington, D.C. For those applicants living in the Washington, D.C. metro area, and for applicants who would like to participate in Experience Georgetown our campus visit program, we will host on-campus interviews.

• Applicants may be invited to interview at any point during the admissions cycle. Therefore, applicants who have not been invited during GIW, or by the January 15 notification date, may be invited in subsequent rounds.

Not all applicants get an interview, the only ones who are guaranteed are the ones who initiate one themselves during round 1. The questions weren't tough, just the normal "walk me through your resume" "why an MBA, why now, why Georgetown" etc...

I initiated mine on campus, and though it's probably different in foreign countries, my interviewer was a 2nd year (and engineer too, fortunately!) He wanted to know the normal BSchool questions, but he also said at one point, who are you outside of the classroom. They want a good diverse set of people, and that includes people interested in the Beer Club, so don't be afraid to show your actual personality!

good luck to you all!

I know for consulting, there aren't quite as many of the large companies that have a dedicated recruiter on-site, however there are many students who ultimately get jobs.

here's the employment profile of grads and interns for the last several years, there's definitely some big names (note that * indicates hiring more than one student, bold means international)
