I am sorry to hear that your first attempt did not go well as planned. I see you've got Q48 which is a very good score. I am assuming your main focus is on verbal based on your splits.

I scored V35 in my first attempt. RC was the one that pulled down my score. I started practicing 2 RCs / day without fail and i can confidently say that my RC accuracy has improved.

If you haven't tried it yet, you can try that exercise.
that is a fair assessment. Thanks for the advice. If you need anything as well, please feel free to ask (although not sure I can be of much help).

Dude ,You are too modest. Q48 is like my realistic dream score and i was about to ask you about strategies to improve quant. Also this thread is started to motivate and help each other. Lets help each other out and reach our dream score together

Hi akadiyan,

As i said in my debrief, I only followed Bunuel. Follow him, stalk him - whatever works! Only look at his solutions, and try to think like he does. Oh and do the gmat club tests. I only did 10 of them. If possible do all 25. (Also give them under timed constraints. They have an option at the end to continue the test even if you have run out of time. Dont do that. End the test. Take another one.)

Hello All,

How is everyone's preparation coming along.

I have completed section wise quizzes in GC for all chapters except Statistics and P&C [Chapter numbers according to Quant Mega thread]. I am fairly confident in Statistics and P&C, so i decided to focus more on Verbal Prep along with Quants. From now on i will be splitting my time between Q and V in the ratio 60-40.

Whats Next:

Verbal:
1.Practice 2 RC's from OG 2020 daily.
2.Re-reading MGMAT SC along with practicing 10 SC Questions daily from OG 2020.

Quants:
I will start working on revisiting the problems i got wrong in GC Quiz exercise.

At this stage motivation is biggest factor. It was hectic over the last 3 weeks working on GC Quizzes and found it hard to keep up the motivation. Whenever i lose my focus or motivation i read some inspiring debriefs to understand what it takes to achieve dream score. Thanks for all those who have shared their journey in GMAT Club.

Let me know how your prep is coming along.

All the best

Hey guys. I have a doubt.
How is the gmat offical mock compared to the actual exam?
Both in terms of difficulty and scoring?

GMAT prep official Mocks are the closest mocks to the actual Exam.
However different factors such as familiarity with the questions, repeated question, no exam conditions, and anxiety in real exam sometimes make the actual score differ considerably.

In case of any doubt in any Quant question, feel free to tag me.

Best wishes for the exam.

Hey. Thank you.
And I have one more doubt.
My mock score is Q-49 V-35
I want to increase my verbal to 38 or 39.
What should be the number of questions right to get a 39 in verbal.( Just an approximate guess)

Hello Everyone,

Hope everyone is safe.

By this time, everyone would have known that due to COVID-19, most of the GMAT exams are cancelled. The exam centers near my area are all closed and there is no exam available till the end of April. Hope this situation subsides and return back to normal :fingers_crossed: . Did any one here had their exam's cancelled ?

Stay indoors and be safe.

Hello all,

Hope everyone of you and your loved one's are safe.

With my plans of taking GMAT in march did not materials for the reasons known, am now considering about GMAT @home considering that we do not know when we return to normalcy. In the meantime i need to maintain the level of knowledge and focus i had during my last stage of prep in march.

I have completed all official practice questions and also LSAT questions for verbal. I am trying to find something to keep me going in GMAT Grove.

AnirudhaS and gmatway - I am interested to learn how you guys maintain the focus and knowledge in these tough times. What are you guys working on these days.

Regards
Akadiyan

Hi akadiyan, hope you and your family is safe. With the ongoing disruption, I am finding it hard to keep my focus. I am trying to give a mock test every weekend, but apart from the level of practice has gone down significantly. Are you though all the practice mock tests as well? Are you achieving the desired accuracy in your weak areas? For me this is RC, so I am trying my best to just solve 2 RC everyday.

All I can say is if you don't get the desired score this time around, then you have to AGAIN study for 2 more months for another attempt. Does that motivate you now?

I agree , the most important thing at this point is not to lose our way or we might need to start again from scratch that's no bueno.

I have been following the GMAT at home thread in GMAT Club, but curious to see how it goes. You are looking to take GMAT @ home ?

akadiyan No, I am hoping to give the normal gmat after restrictions are rescinded. It however depends on how long the lock-down would be enforced. I have a dodgy internet connection and an old system, so not very confident to give the test at home!

Hi AnirudhaS,

Have you been able to attempt GMAT ?

I attempted online GMAT in late July and did not achieve desired score. I took a break from preparation for a month meanwhile waiting for GMAC to allow retakes for online as well. Now announcement for retake finally came out last month, i am slowly getting back into the grove again.

Hello All,

Hope everyone is safe and doing good. I am currently back in prep mode for my retake attempt and solving OG questions again as a quick refresher. I have planned to appear again in 6 weeks time leaving sufficient time for R3 deadline.

I have couple of questions that i am wondering about and i like to know your inputs

1.After practicing OG , will you recommend practicing OG Review or should i move on to Question Pack ?

2.Anyone of you have used latest version of MGMAT Advanced questions ? If so will you recommend using the book before the exam ?

All the best.
