Dear madhantce,

I read that the issue is resolved for you. But just for the record so that anybody else who might face the same issue, I am responding to the query here :)

Please note that you will have to type in the essay in the given space in your application form. Copy- pasting from your word file or notepad will not allow the essay to be submitted.

Your GMAT score is at a lower end. I would suggest you retake GMAT and apply with better score.

Hi Jibs.
Greetings!
I am seeking your guidance on 2-3 things and would be glad if you can help.
1.Please evaluate my profile(Details below) what are the chances of getting a call in R1?
2.Also kindly let me know what should the target GMAT score for the program? Lowest and Median ?
3. What are the major areas/sectors(consulting,strategy,marketing etc) in which students are placed, post completion of the course?

GMAT-Planned in Nov second half.
Total Experience:Approx 4 years as a Consultant and Analyst in Infosys, PwC and Accenture
10th-83.4%
12th-73.4%
B.Tech-81.4%
Other activities-Decent involvement in extra curriculars

Thanks in advance.
Pallavi

Dear Pallavim28,

1. Your academic details look fine to me. Your roles and responsibilities in these companies will also be evaluated in for the comprehensive profile based shortlisting.
2. A safe GMAT score would be somewhere between 600-650. But as I mentioned above, other sections filled in the application form (including essays) will also play a major role in making it to the final shortlist.
3. Please view the placement report of the PGPM 2017-18 batch at https://www.greatlakes.edu.in/pgpm/placement-snapshot
You may also view placement reports of the previous batches by clicking on links at the bottom of this page. The market dynamic keeps changing every year due to which new areas/sectors get added to the list and the major areas/sectors keep changing.

Hope this helps you!

From- Sakshamachiever.

Can someone please guide me on my chances for Great Lakes (1 year PGPM)

GMAT : 610 : (Quant : 47 Verbal : 28)
IT Experience: 3 years (by next year June would be around 4 years)
experience with IT MNC in Service Management and Cloud Enterprise Tools
Academics : 10th -> 91%
12th -> 84%
B.Tech CGPA -> 7.35/10
Certifications: ServiceNow admin,ITIL,Business Analysis
The weakener for me is GMAT score but I read that GMAT cutoff is around 600.

I want to understand whether the cutoff for pgpm remains same in both the rounds? Because I have been told that its usually a little higher for round2.
Could you please provide your insight on this.

Dear Dush7,

There is no cutoff as such for any of the rounds since the approach followed for shortlisting candidates is the overall profile. Answer to your question- Both rounds are identical. If you have a score of around 600+ in GMAT, you will have equal chances of getting shortlisted, irrespective of which round you apply in.

The CAT & XAT aspirants can apply only with their last year scores in round 1 and with last year as well as upcoming CAT/ XAT exam scores in round 2 (as the results will be out only by Jan, 2019). So it's only the volume of the applications which goes up in the 2nd round.

Conclusion- Every candidate who secures a minimum eligible score (irrespective of which round the candidate applies in) and has a good overall profile will be shortlisted for the Personal Interview round.

Hope this helps!

Dear Ashwinrd,

Your academics look fine to me but GMAT score is a bit on the lower side. I can see that you have been a national level cricketer, that might give you some brownie points, but then your overall application form will be assessed before shortlisting.

My suggestion would be to apply with a better score. But If you want to take a chance, you can go ahead and apply.
