Isn't it possible that they just read applications say in lots of certain sizes and send invites in the order they finish those lots. Probably they will finish all the remaining lots by today, which has our applications.

sure - that's very possible. it's all speculation

So if there are no interview slots left in some of the hubs, does that mean people applying from such places should not expect invitations anymore?

The hardcore optimist inside me says that they will add on the slots as they release interview invites..
