Finished my HBS interview a few days ago. I would post a detailed report, but lets just say I was only asked 2-3 traditional behavioral questions. 95% of my interview was based off of specific things in my resume and follow-up questions. Overall, enjoyable experience that felt more like a conversation. We had a lunch session with 2 adcom members and all the other interviewees (~25 for this day). Met a ton of cool people. Advice: bring water from the waiting room into your interview... helps to control the pace of the interview and keep you from frothing at the mouth....You end up talking A LOT during your interview.

lunch? Was this on-campus?

Yeah from 12 - 1, right behind dillon house. Apparently they usually have the sessions with current students, but with the long weekend, everyone was out of town. So instead, the admissions office hosted something small and informal. We went around and said our names and most recent companies (quite the diverse and impressive group) and then broke out into lunch. Adcom was very pleasant, engaging, and friendly.

You can find information and the lunch voucher in your interview folder.

I have a question about this as well. I was not aware of the lunch until you brought it up. How mandatory is it? Just wondering because I did not plan my schedule around it and want to know how much I should worry about rearranging some things to make it.

Completely optional. They had name tags for everyone interviewing that day and from what I could gather there was about 50% of people who showed up. It was mostly interactions between applicants and the adcoms were mostly off in their own corner after introductions. I found it relaxing to speak with other applicants and had a few people debrief their interviews for me. Not sure how necessary it would be for you to rearrange your schedule, clearly a personal choice. The lunch format may be different for other interview days. The admissions office set this up because there were no student lunches and/or class visits.

p.s. Welcome to GMATclub. You should update the googledoc for tracking purposes and the benefit of future applicants.. pay it forward

Even more than that. We had quite a few R1 People as well. So we should be looking at just the R2 subset (37/750= ~5%)
