Sandy - would you estimate that the # of acceptances (and % of interviewed who are accepted) and WLs will shake out pretty much like round 1?

hmmmm, no, percent accepted is prob lower R2 than R1, R1 apps are stronger, as a rule, altho that is complicated issue, percent of admits/interviews could be similar, and my guesss is, lower percent placed on WL, e.g. they are not going to WL another 140-160 people as they did R1 since number of spots open is way less.

This board is way too quiet! How is everyone else managing the wait? My anxiety dial has gone way up overnight!

WELL, THIS WON'T CURE YOUR ANXIETY BUT IT ARGUES THAT GETTING INTO A Y-COMBINATOR IS BETTER THAN GETTING INTO HBS, AND MORE RARE, AND MORE VALUABLE, SO IT COULD BE PLAN B. IF YOU HEAR BAD NEWS TOMORROW.

Would You Rather Get Into Y Combinator, 500 Startups, TechStars...or Harvard ...
Forbes
Tuition for Harvard Business School is approximately $160000. Startups incubators are battling the top business schools across the country for talent, and this time, they are not bringing knives to a gunfight. First, let's take a look at why people go ...[url]

HBS WAITLIST HAS 178 PEOPLE ON IT, THEY TELL ROUND ONE WLERS

March 29, 2012
Dear ______:

. . . .I can say with certainty that we will be making more offers to Round 1 waitlist candidates, but not until after our Round 2 response date of May 3.
You are a "qualified" candidate for HBS...no doubts. This is about the challenge of shaping a class, which is more complicated than evaluating the capabilities of individuals.
I can't assess your individual chances of being offered a place. If it helps, you are among 178 candidates on the waitlist; this includes both Rounds 1 and 2 applicants. I predict that we will be able to offer admission to between 25 and 50 waitlisters - but this is just my prediction.Dana Scalisi will continue to be your contact person. Please let her know via email if you'd like to remain on the waitlist or remove yourself from consideration.
We sincerely appreciate your patience and will do our best to keep you informed.
Sincerely,
Dee Leopold
