HBS does not have an application status per se. It just has a list of items submitted - like Application Cache, Recommendation 1, 2 etc. and has a check mark and date received in the status page.

When interviews are released, they say "an update" has been posted to your application and a link appears with your interview letter, and eventually decision letter.

Good luck to everyone applying R2!

FROM HBS Admissions Blog: Round 2 Interview Invitations and Dates
Happy to report that the Round 2 application deadline went smoothly and we are now in hibernation-mode and happily reading. (Yes, it's true - it's zero degrees here today - we love it and you will too!)

Here's the scoop on what’s next:

Interview invitations: Will go out in two waves - January 28 and February 4. Please don't waste time speculating about how many in each wave. And please don't send us any additional materials or ask others to do so for you.

Interview dates: Interviews begin on February 12 and continue through early March. Detailed information will be included in the invitation email.

As always, hope this is helpful.

Submitted for round 2 as well. Less than 48 hours after hitting submit, the wait is already agonizing.

Try waiting since September 2nd! But it feels good to still be in it for round 2.

That's brutal, but you've got the right perspective! Good luck!

No. Some round 1 applicants are moved to round 2 for further consideration without having been interviewed. Nice, since you know you're in the running, but it is a lot of waiting!

Procrastinating on this one, haha - underestimated how hard it is to turn either of these down. Mind is 99% made up, but I will be attending admit weekend before putting down my deposit :)

It's really hard to say. The gmat is a major negative but the experience in Africa is a huge plus. It really depends on who else apples that can bring to the table what you can bring. I know this is somewhat of a non answer but I think it is as accurate as you will get. Same goes for your post in the yale thread.

There are better threads for this sort of analysis elsewhere on these forums. But I would say if you can get your GMAT into respectable range you'd have a good shot, especially if all of your work is at well known firms. From what I've read, when HBS takes someone with a GMAT that low it is a news article worthy event. The HS math I'd leave out of your app entirely (same with soccer team captain unless it was after high school). The CFA/FRM may help but I'm not sure what partly qualified means - could mean a first or last level candidate for each. If almost done those could be a boost. Even so, the GMAT would kill you.

With your other academic accomplishments I would like to think that some serious study time and a tutor could bring that GMAT up at least a hundred points. Have you give this thought?

Find the consulting forums here and ask for a free analysis. They are a great resource.
