A little off topic (from HBS) but Singapore Airlines is fantastic. I travel extensively to Asia and always love flying with SA. Air Canada, on the other hand... don't get me started. I think there's a website for frequent flyers who post hilarious stories about carriers across the world.

2 weeks until d-day! I feel like I bombed my interview but am still so antsy to get a definite answer. I can't stop thinking about it!

Give it some positive thoughts. That would help. And it's difficult to say how an interview has actually gone. You smiled a lot, the interviewer smiled too. He asked a lot of questions, you gave a lot of answers. He was very genial, you were charming. But did you answer his questions? Or were you just concentrating on selling yourself? If it's the former, you might think you've had a so-so interview because you'd think that you could not get into the details, or able to tell him all you wanted to. If the latter than you'd come home gushing.

Interestingly, in my view, the former might just be the good interview. An interviewer will only ask those questions to which he wants answers. And nothing more is required. Once he has obtained his answers, he'll file the report. I think the Adcom will get a rather dry account of the interview anyways - Questions and Answers. Were you to the point? That's good. Did you wander off? That's not.

So don't dwell too much over the interview. Like the GMAT, if you think it went bad, it probably didn't ;)

Good luck.

Do you guys think that HBS can send invite, arrange for interview and make a decision within two weeks before Dec15th deadline. So, has the road to HBS ended for the candidates like me who haven't yet received an interview invite yet?
I have only the Stanford interview result to look forward to then.

I believe the forum is FlyerTalk. It's great for gathering hidden tips and tricks to what otherwise is the most confusing industry/product available to the human race.

getting even MORE off topic, but i was browsing the flyertalk forums awhile back. apparently british airways was offering a deal if you opened up a visa credit card through them. if you spent $2000 in your first 2 months, you got 100,000 flyer miles for free. no idea if this offer is still up or not, but i definitely would have surpassed that from oct-nov, with GMAT, school apps, and black friday shopping. oh well

Dec 2nd update on Dee's "HBS Admissions Blog":

Round 1 Update
Date: December 02, 2009

Now that it's December, we're in countdown mode to the December 15 notification date, so here's what's happening:

I think there may be about a dozen more interview invitations going out before the 15th...this is just a matter of reviewing how the class is shaping up at this point and going back and re-reviewing before final decisions are made.

As I've said before, we are building a waitlist of round 1 candidates - both those who have been interviewed and those who haven't. A "waitlist" letter in round 1 is essentially a "further consideration" decision - we will try to resolve many of these cases after we review round 2 applications. Last year we ended up admitting 70 people from the waitlist.

The next update - probably early next week - will be about how decisions are released on December 15.

On a side note, I’ve been noticing that the first thing that comes to my mind these days when I think of HBS is not Baker or Aldrich, but Spangler. Is that a cause for concern?
