Got invited today! Very exciting day, to say the least. After hearing nothing for so long, I got invites from Booth, IESE and Stanford within 20 minutes of each other. :)

I applied within hours of the deadlines, for all schools. I will definitely travel to Barcelona for this interview. Good luck everybody!

Currently thinking about applying, don't know much about IESE but I read comments about an assessment center... what's that all about? are there no regular interviews??

Thanks for your help!

I dont think assessment day is 100% mandatory... Yes this school does not seem to be as heavily into marketing as its counterparts.

I have not even see many information session or events.

Thanks for that Rinie,

I think I might apply for the Dec deadline, sounds like an interesting school and would be a good fit for my profile I think.

To those of you who are applying or have already applied, what is the deal with the scholarship essays? I don't want to apply for scholarships so do I just leave these essays blank or do I have to select some field saying that I don't want to be considered??

I think on page 2 or 3 of the application there's a check box where you can state if you want to apply for the scholarship or not.

As for getting more information about the school and the program, you can also schedule an informational interview with an admissions officer. You can find the link on their website

As for marketing, yeah, the school does have a way to go to build its brand here in the US. That being said, they did participate in a couple of MBA fairs. Their recently opened office in NYC is also supposed to serve the purpose of building awareness about the school; both among recruiters and prospective students.

I also heard somewhere that one can virtually attend their upcoming Open Day in Barcelona. Dont have the complete info on this however.

They also attend very few MBA fairs here in London where I based.
There are MBA events here constantly but they rarely send a rep.

Informational interviews are also not synergetic. Meaning you can't meet alumni or scope out what type of people apply to the program and listen to other questions people have you may not have thought of.

Thats interesting. I would have imagined them to be more active with info sessions at least in Europe. Since you're based in the UK, do you have an opinion on the reputation of the school among recruiters there?

And btw, congratulations on your interview invite from IESE. (I just noticed that) Can I ask what other schools you have applied to?

Hi guys,

one question, my recommenders are complaining about a 5 line limit to the recomm questions... is this right or are they doing something wrong? 5 lines is not a lot at all!

Yes, the answers to the recommendation questions are limited to 5 lines. recomenders can't go over the limit as the online recommendation form won't let them.

Thanks!

Wow that's tough, getting a good message into 5 lines.

Has anyone heard about the possibility of them possibly allowing for interviews in NYC? When I was contacted last week, I mentioned that I would prefer a face-to-face interview over VC, and they mentioned that they had plans to come to NYC but nothing was confirmed. Has anyone heard anything??

I was interviewed via VC this week and I think the interview went great. Do you think there is a substantially low number of applicants for the coming school year given that the end of the global recession has passed? This would mean that the current applicants will have to compete with fewer co-apps.
