At the open day the Adcom said they highly recommend people do the assessment day. They even said you should apply with planned assessment days in mind as this greatly accelerates the admissions process for you. From my submission to my admission I clocked 3 weeks. Compared to the 4 months I am experiencing for other schools that is just ridiculously quick.

I think if you live close enough to fly to Barcelona and don't do the AD it will definitely be detrimental to your chances. Also, keep in mind that there are Assessment days in NY as well and in some other city. Not sure when though.

But the AD wasn't difficult. It was actually sort of fun. Personal presentation - very straight forward, that took up half of the day. Case studies - very straight forward. I think it really is a chance to gain an advantage as it seems quite a lot of the people at my AD got accepted (before going I thought it was a disadvantage).

All in all I quite enjoyed the AD experience. Hope that helps!

I'd definitely recommend everyone who is given the opportunity to attend the AD, to do so. It's a great experience and you meet a lot of like minded people who are in the same boat as you are. On the admissions side, it really helps marketing yourself to the AdCom in a way that other people who don't attend, can't. Hence the advantage of doing it. The AD itself is easy and not the sort of "airtime" competition that I was expecting to see. You just need to be yourself and apply common sense to solve the cases you're given. The Adcom just want to see how you work in teams and how easy it is for you to speak in public. Personally I also I think the AD is a great opportunity for the Adcom to market the school amongst prospective MBA students. They know that all of us will be applying for more than one school and by inviting you to spend a day in IESE they expect to be able to influence your choice.
I was one of those who was given the option of interviewing through VC or interview+AD in Barcelona and in the end I was very glad to make it to Barcelona as it definitely played an important role on my admission decision.

That was a very quick decision on your scholarship application! If I may ask, how much of the tuition will be covered by your scholarship?

Is it too late to apply in R3? I am an Indian Applicant, I feel I am better served if I apply to earlier rounds of the next year

Anybody having the same dilemma?

Anybody having the same dilemma?

Considering that IESE has 6 rounds, I think it may not hurt to apply in third round.

I applied in second round and got invited for the interview & assessment day in NYC.

My background:
Personal: Indian Male, 31 years
Education: BS. Computer Science from Tier I university in USA, GPA 3.3
Professional: 6 Years of experience in Big 4 IT Consulting Firms in USA
Other: Involved in couple of community activities

Hope that helps.
