Don’t stress, the assessment is not mandatory, they send it to folks who they believe should be a part of the assessment, especially to judge for admit and scholarship considerations.

It’s mostly a case+gd kind of situation but varies year to year. They just want to see how you would fit in the class, and align with the teaching method.

You can go through GMAT club as well, there you will find references to each year’s assessment day routine.

I got an invite for the interview and assessment day - weirdly they shared a mail rather than the letter.

Yes, some folks have. However, it’s not representative of them choosing one over the other. Just focus on the interview and assessment day.

As for the optional aspect, I would highly recommend to attend the assessment day. It’s a two-way fit test really, you’d also get a taste of whether you’d fit in the class.

Highly likely that those who have received only an interview invite are re-applicants. Since they attended an assessment day in the previous year, they don't need to do it again.

Generic is interview + assessment day (which they say is optional but kinda sorta not really haha 😅
