I would not agree to this. This is from my experience of helping many many candidates in the last 7+ years. It is a composite score and all factors are key to come to a decision. We have worked with many candidates who have aced interviews but weren’t selected for other factors and we have seen many who had bad interviews but still get in.

I beg to differ tridisha, I’ve seen impeccable profile where you can’t put a single finger on, top college, best academics, 98 to 99%ile in gmat, very good quality work ex..if composite score was a criteria, even an avg interview would have secured a seat. In fact, interview was great, not just from the word of mouth from consultant, rather interview debrief was discussed with other consultant and they agreed that interview was very good (specifically prepared for interview with consultant). End result - direct rejection, not even a waitlist

Admission process and evaluation is a matter of fact, not opinion. Only IIMA knows the process in totality and sharing the screenshot of the process as shared on IIMA website. As consultants we learn from experience of very less number of candidates compared to overall pool of candidates. Unless someone has worked with more than 50% of sample size, the claims, whatsoever are naive.

Everyone should check the website of the college (Or file an RTI if need more info) and take the information as the truth. And pay due respect to each component of admission process, as irrespective of its relative weight age, in this cut throat competition, no component, howsoever less weighted, can be compromised for quality.
