The short answer is yes, there is a specific essay for reapplicants. But let me elaborate.
I've worked with many reapplicants and we've taken different routes depending on their particular circumstances. The main two are:
1)
Beforehand - let INSEAD know your intention to reapply. Basically, you email your AO or someone from the Admissions Team and let them know your intention to reapply. After this, they review your first application and come back to you with a "verdict". If positive, sometimes, they ask you to resubmit an entirely new application or they ask you to submit only the below essay.
"
Please highlight any new aspects of your professional, international, academic or personal profile that were not included in your previous application. Please also explain your motivation for reapplying to INSEAD. (400 words maximum)"
If the verdict is negative, you can still reapply through a new application. However, the chances of being reviewed may be lower in this scenario.
2)
Reapply with a completely new application without giving INSEAD a heads-up. This option maximizes the chances of your application being reviewed. In this case, you use the official Optional Essay (300 words) to introduce yourself as a reapplicant, highlight any improvements to your profile, and formally request INSEAD to reconsider your candidacy.
I hope this helps.
Warm regards

There isn’t a reapplicant policy per se.
INSEAD advises applicants to use their own judgment in assessing whether there have been significant improvements in their profile since their first application. Because of this, the rule of thumb is to wait at least a year before reapplying.
That said, it really depends. I’ve seen successful cases of reapplicants being accepted for the very next intake. Besides improvements in your profile, it also comes down to the reasons for your rejection. If your profile was strong (including your GMAT/GRE score) and the rejection was mainly due to something like rushed essays, you could still apply in the following intake with chances of success.
If you’d like a second opinion on your Aug 2025 application and chances for Jan 2026, feel free to reach out.
I hope this helps.

Or is there any part of application, where we need to mention, it’s a reapplicant candidate?
