Hi everyone, I have a question regarding GRE scores for INSEAD. They recommend an 80th percentile in both sections. I’ve taken the test multiple times, my highest Quant score was 165 (70th percentile) in August 2023, and my highest Verbal score was 160 (83rd percentile) in February 2025, but unfortunately, I didn’t perform well in Quant on the most recent attempt.

This is a long shot but does INSEAD consider the highest Quant and Verbal scores from different test dates, or do both scores need to be from the same test sitting? And is there any way to address this in the optional essay or anything that can be done? Any tips or insights would be super useful and appreciated

Suppose they really like the overall profile and value you will bring to the class, in that case, they will consider the results of multiple attempts and also see if the current score is otherwise supported by strong academic performance. There’s no set formula for how Insead adcom will evaluate your profile, but rest assured they will consider multiple factors before deciding whether to call you for an interview. Use your optional essay to show that you are aware that this is not your best performance in the quant section, what the reason might be, and why they should consider your best score. If you are willing to put in the effort, include evidence of your academic achievements if you have any from previous years/university.

Best wishes

Does anyone know when we can expect to hear of the final outcomes? The DL is on the 21st, but I have heard they may be reaching out earlier.

I had my interviews two weeks back. Both were virtual and pretty chill. The first was more conversational and lasted 40min. The second lasted an hour and the interviewer had gone through my application in detail. He had more specific questions regarding my motivation and the choices I have made.
Hi vemona ! So, INSEAD usually sticks around the decision deadline, so we can expect to hear back 3-4 days around the decision date too, though some lucky admits might get a call a bit earlier.

Your interviews sound pretty usual: one chill, one deep dive, exactly how INSEAD likes to do it. Now it’s just a waiting game... Good luck! : )

Hey adityab20 ! INSEAD doesn’t superscore the GRE, so they’ll look at your best test score. Since your 165Q (70th percentile) is below their recommended 80th percentile, it may not be ideal, but it’s not the end of the world either. Here’s the game plan: if you can, retake the GRE and aim for a stronger Quant score. If not, use the optional essay to showcase your quant skills, highlight any finance-heavy work, technical projects, or coursework that proves you can handle things. INSEAD looks at the whole package, so while this isn’t a dealbreaker, you’ll want to be proactive in addressing it. Good luck!
