I was interviewed and still received the email yesterday instead of getting the waitlist email so that is not the case

I think there are a few who’ve not received.
However, the entire process as of now seems a little confusing

I think there is a possibility that they still need to take a decision on those candidates for whom the mail has been sent - this includes final admit decision and interview shortlist decision... Just a guess
