Applying to PGP Young Leaders (New PGP)

I have a little weird profile and was concerned if I would make a cut.

GMAT FE: 685 (96th Percentile): Maths - 90/90 (100%), Verbal - 80/90 (57%), DI - 82/90 (93%)
IELTS: 7.5/9 (C1)

Academics
- 10th : 80.40%
- 12th : 94.40%
- BBA: Nirma University - 8.19 CGPA - Top 10% of batch
- Passed both the levels of Financial Risk Manager (FRM) certification (Comparable to CFA) in the first attempt with top quartile performance.

Professional Experience:
- 6 Months internship in finance risk analysis at Avinya Ventures (VC Fund)
- 4 Months internship at Campus Binge (A Bangalore based startup in real estate)
- 2 Months Full-Time experience as Growth & Marketing Associate at Numans Technologies (A SaaS startup) - Left firm because of family needs
- Worked on a FinTech Startup to make investing in human capital possible during my undergrad and won prestigious grants from IIT Kanpur, IIT Jodhpur, IIT Dharbad, and IIM Udaipur for my business.

Extra curriculars
- Lead Nirma University Entrepreneurship Cell to IIT Jodhpur and won 1st prize in National-Level Business Plan competition.
- Worked as core-committee member of Abhivyakti - The cultural committee at Nirma University
- U-19 state level Football player and Athlete (During school)
- Worked as the junior member of Jain Social Group (JSG) - A social organization for followers of Jainism.

Awards
- 50% Merit-Based Scholarship on entire tuition fees for 3 years of my BBA.

Weird Part - I already started my MSc Finance at BI Norwegian Business School in Norway but the quality of education I feel is below par and I don’t feel I will have adequate growth opportunities here. Will that create a negative impression that I am dropping out of a masters?

Can u please give a realistic view on my profile?
As long as you are able to build a logical narrative and rationale around dropping off, it should not create any negative impact on your application. Your profile in terms of academics, GMAT score, FRM and Extra-curriculars is really good. The only question I would encourage you to think about is whether you want to pursue a Masters in Finance or an MBA. If you are sure about choosing Finance as your career domain, MFin programs also make sense. If you want to explore different domains and then choose a specialisation then MBA would make more sense. You can connect with us at Preppie (https://www.preppie.in) for a more detailed discussion. Wish you the best!

We have a number of ex-panelists and adcom members. I have done multiple interviews myself in the past. Of course, no current panelists because there’s a conflict of interest and more importantly, ethics :)

It would be good to know the name of your engineering college, your post MBA goals and any extracurriculars for a comprehensive evaluation. Also, when you mention "wrote about it only in the profile" - does that mean you have mostly mentioned about the recent PM role but not enough about the 3.3 yrs of SWE experience prior to that?

Your CGPA is on the lower side. Also, multiple switches within 3.5 yrs will have to logically explained in the application. Target a higher GMAT score of 665+ to offset some of these aspects. Also, let us know if there are any notable extra curriculars that you plan to cover in your application

Hi,
I have a few questions regarding ISB placements:
1. Are we required to disclose our undergraduate qualifications GPA during the placement process? Additionally, how significant is the ISB GPA when shortlisting candidates for non-consulting companies?
2. In what ways does the placement process for senior executives differ from that for other candidates?

Hi All, I had a question with respect to recommendations: the application has a separate deadline for recommendation- is this date by when I should be submitting my recommender details or is this by when the recommender should finish their recommendation? Also, the recommendation section in the application is much later, and I cannot directly access it, does it mean I am supposed to fill in everything before it, including the essays?

The deadlines mentioned for the recommendation is the date by which the filled recommendation should be reaching ISB.
