Hi Saurav,

You have a really interesting profile and a competitive score. You can look at schools such as Oxford SAID, IESE (incredible placements in Middle East), Columbia, Yale, Kellogg, Tuck and Michigan Ross. This is just a preliminary list that should be streamlined as a counsellor works closer in understanding your profile. The target should be to try and push the impact profile for a good scholarship.

I am a Mechanical Engineering graduate from MNNIT Allahabad with over 6 years of experience across the corporate, development, and consulting sectors. I began my career as a Design Engineer at L&T, working on international projects. Driven by my passion for impactful change, I transitioned to the development sector as a Project Associate at Better World Foundation (BWF), and later as a PPIA Fellow with Transform Rural India (TRIF), where I led grassroots governance and development initiatives in Jharkhand and Chhattisgarh.
Currently, I am working with EY LLP as a Project Consultant, based at the District Administration office in Chaibasa, Jharkhand, where I serve as the Programme Officer for Livelihood and Skill Development. This role has deepened my expertise in public service delivery, policy implementation, and stakeholder management.
With a GMAT Focus Edition score of 645, now pursuing an MBA to transition into higher-growth, globally competitive roles in strategy or impact consulting with firms like BCG, Deloitte, Dalberg,EY and consulting also parallel looking in ESG domain.. I am looking to build my career internationally, particularly in the UK, USA, Singapore, or the Middle East. Suggestion for college and any good affordable consultant

this was the range
Just a word of caution though Adhishree13.

Range really conceals more than it reveals. For instance, GRE range of 306-336 is sometimes mistakenly interpreted by applicants that if they have a 306 on GRE, they have a realistic shot at ISB. In reality, that is hardly the case.

So, median/average score is more representative in terms of what you should be aiming at. So, for GRE, you should be aiming at around 328.

Not at all. There is no preference of one test over the other.

Great academics, 8.5 years of PSU experience is valuable from school’s perspective. Would want to understand your post-MBA goals and extracurriculars for a well rounded profile assessment. Given ~9 yrs of tenure, speaking generally, you should target 655+ in GMAT. Obviously higher the better. All the best for GMAT. Feel free to reach out to us at Preppie (https://www.preppie.in) for a more detailed 1:1 discussion

My name is Laksh Johar. I am currently working as an Operations Manager where I lead strategic business planning, digital transformation initiatives, and cross-functional operations to drive efficiency and revenue growth. At the same time I’ve demonstrated leadership and have undertaken numerous compliance initiatives. I’ve been in this role since 2020.

Academics:
Class 10: CGPA 9.2
Class 12: 94.25%
Graduation: 7.14 CGPA (B.Com. Hons)
GMAT focus- 675

Extra-curriculars:
• Led public relations and external sponsorship efforts for multiple student organizations.
• Secured significant sponsorships and executed social media campaigns enhancing institutional outreach.
• Volunteered in community service initiatives focused on primary education and awareness.

I am aiming for the Indian School of Business for the PGP program. Any suggestions as to how I can enhance my profile?
Graduation score is on the lower side, however GMAT score is good. B.Com could add diversity to the profile. However, we’ll need to know the UG college, firm you work at and post-MBA goals to better evaluate your profile. Usually core operations experience is valuable, however it also depends on your exact role in the broader initiatives. Most of your extracurriculars seem to be from undergrad which is okay but not a differentiator, anything more recent would definitely help. Wishing you the very best for your applications. Hi Everyone,

My name is Shivam Goyal. I am a recently qualified Chartered Accountant and working as a Merger & Acquisitions Tax Consultant in Nangia Andersen LLP (Member firm of Andersen Global). Previously, I was working in Price Waterhouse & Coopers LLP (Pwc, India) as M&A Tax Associate. It’s been around 5 months as now, post qualification.

I have completed my 3 years of Internship in boutique M&A Tax Advisory Firm. I was in EY also for initial 6 months.

Academics:
Class 10: 10 CGPA
Class 12: 95%
Graduation: 7.5 CGPA
Chartered Accountancy: 2 times All India Rankholder

Extra-curriculars:
No major activities to share as such, as of now

I am aiming for Indian School of Business for PGP Prgrm. My queries are as follows:

1. Looking at my profile as of now, what should i do to improve it further and build a stong profile

2. I am planning to take GMAT next year...how should i start my preparation---self study or coaching

3. Any other specific inputs would be highly appreciated.

Thanks.
You can take GMAT and apply to PGP YL as well given your post qualification work-ex tenure. Also, in general terms, a year of preparation is sufficient time frame for GMAT self study. You should consider adding more dimensions to your profile besides the CA aspect. Ex:- Leadership initiatives at firm, hobbies that have shaped your personality. Plus be clear with your post MBA goals as well. All the best for your GMAT. Feel free to have a chat with us at Preppie (https://www.preppie.in) for a detailed assessment.

As far as a GMAT score is concerned, target atleast a 655 or a 665. Though I will not say that it is a minimum and you should not apply if you score below that. Your story and work experience does matter a lot.

Given your work ex tenure would be relatively on the lower end of the spectrum along with B.Tech and Big 4, I would recommend 665+ on GMAT. Since the admission process is designed to evaluate your holistic profile, the mentioned target score is only for directional reference to help you prepare better. You can always reach out to us at Preppie (https://www.preppie.in) for a chat to discuss further.
