Hi
Apple_Sweet The school will definitely look at the overall picture and consider your health situation leading to a long career gap. But I would want you to come more face to face with the challenges you may face hereon to prepare yourself better. I just want to be very frank about how the adcoms think about the applicants they want to take in. They definitely have a preference for candidates who can manage to turn things around on their own rather than relying solely on the MBA program, because otherwise, that would also put pressure on the school to deliver satisfactory career outcomes after MBA completion.
So in your case specifically, now that you feel ready to come back to the corporate sector, have you actively looked or been looking for professional opportunities? Where are you with that? I know a lot of people will tell you to be very vocal about how you have gained meaningful experience on your own time or through extracurriculars, but the key question still remains whether you have been able to find any part-time or full-time professional opportunities that take you closer to your MBA goals, knowledge-wise or experience-wise.
Proof that you are very hands-on with the skills required for post-MBA roles, and that recruiters find your skills and ideas useful (from recent part-time or full-time work), is key to converting an
MBA admit. Happy to speak more should you want my perspective.
Best wishes
