Assuming B.Tech was in CS/IT 🥶(But in India ik it could be anything)
GPA 🧡
Work ex is on the lower end but if you have enough leadership experience, extraordinary extracurriculars or business ownership etc, go for it
Hi, yes the btech was in CS
work ex will be more than 3 yrs by the time I will apply this year
regarding leadership experience, I am planning to get a few project/product management certifications as post MBA i am planning to go into prod management domain

also planning to go give gmat in next 3-4 months after dedicated preparation

my target school as of now is ISB

does working in family business counts in applications?

as that will not be considered as full time work ex

Leadership ex is separate from your certifications from your goals but you can definitely lead projects for sure.

Working in family business absolutely counts. Many of my former clients come from family businesses- tbh, it is also easier to work with those profiles because the level of flexibility and authority is high. Only your primary work ex will be considered as a full time experience, even if it is your fambiz.

Hi, please evaluate my profile for ISB. I’m planning to apply in Round 1 this year and will be taking my GMAT soon.

Academics:
- 10th (ICSE): 89.16%
- 12th (HSC – Commerce): 79.38%
- BBA (Marketing), NMIMS Mumbai: GPA 3.30/4

Work Experience: 33 months of full-time experience in marketing

Extracurriculars:
- 14+ years of Bharatanatyam training
- Government-certified teacher (Visharad Purna – equivalent to a bachelor’s degree)
- Member of school and college dance teams

Would appreciate your insights on:
- How I can further strengthen my profile and application narrative (I am planning to apply this year)
- Whether a GMAT score of 685+ would be considered competitive for ISB

Thank you!
Hi, please evaluate
Sure,
I know I have been irregular, but if I miss any, we have the profile eval at MBA Conquerors available for free for now, so feel free to connect for any follow ups.

UG GPA is low
Major is fine, not like CS/IT
Might help to know your leadership experience (direct reports), if you do have about 2 years of some direct reports, something can be worked on there.

ECs are okay, but what matters more is how aligned they are with the post-MBA goals, which, I don't know otherwise that could have helped.
It says Sonia Shah so I will also assume female profile. 685+ would be a decent score to target.

Please review my profile:

10th - 93% ICSE
12th - 94% ISC
College - B.Com (H) St. Xavier’s College; first distinction
CA + CPA
Work ex - Currently working at Hitachi in an FP&A role. Total years of experience will be around 4 years during the R1 applications

Extra curriculars - School Captain, School Basketball team / choir, participated and volunteered in college fests, volunteered with NSS to teach underprivileged kids, interned with Nestle in their GST department during COVID, I used to write for a strategy blog (during COVID; now discontinued), I host various workshops and events at my workplace; also received awards at work, haven’t led a team yet

Appearing for the GMAT by end of July. Can anyone advise the score I should be targeting? ( I am aiming at 695- 705, is that good enough? )

Can anyone also advise how I can further improve my profile before the R1 cycle?
695-705 is not a bad score to target.

I don't see any red flags in the profile based on the info provided but what are your goals post-mba? Could probably suggest some ways to improve your profile based on those

Please review my profile:

10th - 10CGPA
12th - 88%
College -VIT Vellore, Computer Science. CGPA- 8.82
Work experience - working as Associate Consultant in ZS , have leadership experience in tech consulting projects and have done client facing roles.
Total 3 years WOE

Extra Curricular - Winner in multiple National level case competitions held by IIM B, IIM C, IMT , got Dare2compete Top 30 Eng Leaders recognition, Achiever scholarship from college as well.
State level table tennis player, won sports scholarships from govt and multiple state level wins.
Volunteered as Student consultant in multiple organizations to help NGOs. Interned at Retail tech consulting startup.
Senior Diploma in Painting and Music(Tabla Instrument)
Japanese Lang- N5 level

Have given GRE once- 315, would aim to give it again and improve the score before application
Sure!

GPA is great. Undergrad is prestigious enough (VIT)
Major puts you in a danger zone- expectations on GMAT/GRE and level of differentiation needed are both high.

Work ex is decent, fairly structured at ZS, so assuming will be in line with other core consulting role candidates

The ECs are good- shows proactiveness. Not sure what your goal is to make any judgement on the alignment of the Profile with the goals but overall, I think if you work on your GRE/GMAT, should be competitive enough. (Work ex is less than average for core consulting candidates I have seen but why not take a shot, save time!)

10th-88%

12th-88%

UG-BBA 6.6

PG-MBA 8.6

*Work experience*
1 year at Ernst and Young
4 years in TCS as a Business Operations Manager
And will be six years by R1
*Extra curriculars*
Running a food blog with 23000 followers
Led a member of 15 volunteers for the placement process in my MBA
Debate club member during my UG
Worked with a Fintech startup in a part time basis for two years
Glad to! If I miss the follow up, you can always reach out via MBA Conquerors website- http://www.mbaconquerors.com

1 year at EY as... (assuming analyst, but core consulting or..?)
If you have an MBA, ISB will ask why do you need a second one.
4 years management experience is a plus.
You will be on the older side of the class given the experience and PG, so goals might need to be thought through- not all goals will be feasible. Weirdly, in India, it is better to be younger while getting an MBA and it is opposite in the EU.

I like the food blog differentiator, you can definitely use that to build rapport. Other ECs are just okay.

Your plans post MBA matter too.

Please review my profile:

10th - 9.4 CGPA
12th 90.8%
College -VIT Vellore, Computer Science. CGPA 7.7
Work experience - working at IT MNC as Business Analyst in Operations. Previously worked on supply chain project, currently transitioned to reporting role related to finance. Worked with US and Europe clients so got a lot of international exposure. Good expertise on excel.
Total 3 YOE

Extras - Worked in sales team of college cultural fest,Managed Non tech event in mid term fest, captian of school basketball team, Student council member in 12th,
Yet to give the official GMAT
H/S GPA is brilliant (CBSE?)
UG GPA is okay, won't call it an application killer though
UG Prestige- good enough (VIT)

Work ex is on the younger side and also I am assuming will not have the essential leadership skill given- 1. MNC, 2. Analyst, 3. Transition to finance.

I'd prefer to take the shot but ideally, you should keep building your profile. My best guess is that you would be ready next year. But not discouraging you from applying this year, try.

Thank you for the insight, i will try to work on good gmat score this year and then will take time to build my profile better, does some finance certifications or anything else that helps make profiles a little better ?
Would look into more ECs aligned with the goals. If you are already working in a finance role, CFA might help, but that is not the only thing required.

Understood. For GRE, being 4-5 points above the average never hurts. Ideally, 334 would be the cream of the crop score

Great, H/S GPA and UG GPA. UG Brand +++. Work ex is a bit on the lower end (Have a question there about the overall leadership experience). Internship might not count for much sadly but good work on that. Startup experience- differentiator, I like it, and I have a sample resume on my website on how to report this, if you want to check it out- https://www.mbaconquerors.com/diy-hbs (There are two different ones there. Yes, we use TV Characters to give examples.) ECs are long but it all seems like you were the life of the party in Undergrad, just can’t see much else after. They want to see a balance. Ideally, I don’t think the profile is competitive just yet, a bit young and there are multiple things that could be worked with. (I never suggest not to take the shot) If the GMAT is 725+, it would be ideal but 695+ definitely suggested given the profile and stats. (and your name reads Sarthak, so Indian General Male- an indirect curse in admissions process as you must already know) -MBA Conquerors

Great GPA, Great UG Brand (NIT), interesting choice of major. Could you tell me your goals? Because the experience in Marketing and Sales is fine, just misaligned with former degree (engineering)- Adds business acumen nonetheless. Just trying to see how you can make yourself seen in the applications. - MBA Conquerors
