Guys, I have my interview on the 19th.
Any tips of the best way to travel from O`Hare to Campus will be appreciated !

Hi vij101-
I live in Chicago and was just up in Evanston. The best way to get there from O'Hare would be to rent a car. By train, you would have to go all the way downtown (which is southwest of O'Hare), and then all the way up north again - and that would take, I'd say at least 2 hours (assuming you know where you are going). By cab, it would probably be at least $40 each way. So you are probably better off renting a car, it's cheaper than cabs and faster than the trains.

I could be off with my estimates, but I'd go with renting a car anyways since there's no direct public transportation route from O'Hare to Evanston. By car it should take about 30-40 minutes depending on traffic. Parking is somewhat limited around campus so you should leave extra time for that before your interview. Good luck!

renting a car is probably better, in hindsight. It took a full 1.5 hours to go from the Loop to Evanston, if you aren't there during when the purple express runs (weekdays during rush hour only). The construction going on everywhere on the El makes the train go at 10 mph in large stretches of the tracks. The blue line from O'Hare to the Loop took an hour, sometime going SLOWER than the cars IN HEAVY CONGESTION.

Add that to being pretty sick that weekend, I wish I had rented a car. Oh well. :?

Just had my Kellogg interview over the phone. Very conversational and nice. Basic questions,

1) Walk me through your CV...why did you leave job A for job B
2) Long term/short term goals
3) Why MBA
4) Why Kellogg
5) What activities/clubs do you want to be involved in
6) Leadership example
7) Conflict resolution with people who work for you
8) Conflict resolution with senior management

Hey guys,
Had my interview today on campus with an admissions staff.
VEry straight forward and extremely easy going. The interviewer clearly told me that there will no curveball questions and this is just a formal one-on one session.
Pretty standard questions:
Walk me thro your academics
describe your career progression
Why Kellogg
Wat is a common misconception abt you
how do your friends describe you
what will you bring to Kellogg
any questions for me
So...for those interviewing ON campus, expect standard questions.

Now the wait...Good luck to all.

Also recently had my Kellogg interview on campus. It was pretty similar to the other posts here in terms of content, One thing I would recommend if possible is to schedule a morning interview, mine was late afternoon and the adcom member looked exhausted. She was friendly enough though and the interview ran smooth. Regarding the cab/El/rental car situation. From Evanston you can call the Northshore Cab (admissions receptionist will help,) which has a fixed rate of $32 to O'hare (guy ran the meter and it was $44 in heavy traffic, but charged me the fixed rate.) Not sure if they run the other way though. Rental car could be the best option, though it appeared that there was no East-West highway from O'hare, so have good directions and leave adequate time. From the city, purple line is best, unfortunately I was staying a bit north so I had to take the red line till Howard and then transfer. All in all it took about 50 mins from the Armitage stop including walk to campus.

Someone on admissions 411 posted an acceptance to Kellogg. I wonder if they are letting them out or if someone lied or is confusing the FT and PT programs.

Found this on the BW forum:

We have begun releasing Round 1 decisions, so all applicants who submitted by the Round 1 deadline can expect a decision between now and January 7th (except those who interview within 2 weeks of Jan 7; in these cases, decisions may be slightly delayed).
https://forums.businessweek.com/n/pfx/fo ... &tid=73167

So the person on admissions 411 might be truthful.

Brace yourself guys and good luck everyone![/i]
