DING - 2nd for my season.

Saw the status update email without a phone call, so knew it was a ding even before I opened my email.

I was thinking of Chicago/Ross for my R2, but seems like I have to re-evaluate my chances.

All the very best to people who are waiting!

Just hang in there guys ... theres so much more to come ....

Sorry to hear that grad_mba. Well, you still have Stanford! What else do you have from R1?

mNeo - since you asked, I have H/S and W left. Oh well .. trust me .. I dont really have much hanging in there. Seriously thinking of carving out my R2 list.

grad_mba - sorry to hear about the ding.

Our academic/career profiles are very similar except that I have 7 yrs experience. While I interviewed on Nov 19th, I am pretty sure about the ding now.. I hope to hear from them in the next week or so. I will at least be motivated to get cracking on R2 apps.

svrider - trust me, similar academic credentials is no means to compare our chances and 7yrs of work exp is something that cannot be looked over!!
All the very best buddy :)

Absolutely. There is simply no substitute for real-world work.

Thanks! I agree to one extent but there is a disadvantage to having too much experience too. I found that out pretty late in the process but it didn't stop me from applying. Many of the top 10 schools have been skewing younger. Having a masters degree & 7 yrs, the "Why MBA now" aspect becomes an important component of the essays & the interview.

The decision I got from Cornell today was certainly indicative. I applied for the 2yr program but was found a good fit for the Accelerated one. The silver lining - I got an admit with a significant scholarship.

Hello all, I received the call from the Kellogg Adcom with the acceptance.

I hesitated to post, because I did not want to discourage anyone. But River convinced me it was a way to bring hope. For those who haven't heard, please do not give up. And please, keep off these boards! After River got in, I decided to stay off because I felt I was second guessing every aspect of the application process... Just because River, or I, or someone else got admitted (or dinged), doesn't impact your decision. The process is completely random so please trust the process. I know it is tough but relax to keep your sanity.

Best of luck everyone.

Well said, MGOBLUE2. Congratulations on the admit. Hopefully more GMATClub people will be able to join the three of you at Kellogg. And hopefully the rest of us will also get admits at some of our top choices.

Awesome! Its great to see so many GMATclubbers accepted early on in the process.

Unfortunately, I think my chances at K are fairly slim. Taking a look at my essays again, I think they are the weakest out of the three I did for R1. This wait is driving me crazy .

OMG! I log off for a few hours and a flurry of admits and dings happen! I also want to congratulate MGO for the admit, and I'm very sorry to hear about the ding, shmegs, grad_mba, toDoor, and KK. I'm sure you will get into your other schools!

grad_mba, you'll always have Stanford, NC predicted it! :)
