You guys make me nervous. I'm a 710 GMAT, but I think my essays were quite strong. I am getting quite doubtful though. The worst thing is all this waiting and you never get to know "why not".

I can tell you something, anything above approx. 680 is identical to adcoms. I didn't want to believe this, but it's basically true.

yup, I'm a 680 and have been told by every AO that its the magic competitive number. That's the only reason I didn't retake.

As for people who are on the WL, I have no clue what the chances are. It really changes year to year. With all these additional applicants, it all depends on how accurate their estimate of their yield will be. If they overestimate getting off the WL will be much easier than if they underestimate.
