I don't know how I pulled it off, but I just got an admit call for Kellogg! I've been in at Chicago Booth for a few weeks, and I was pretty sure I bombed the Kellogg interview so I'd written it off. I am surprised how excited I was to get accepted... I had been talking myself out of Kellogg for a few weeks (that wait is a killer).

Anyway--I'm excited to have Kellogg as an option for next year! Now I have a lot of soul searching to do.

Reco letters - last date:

For Cornell's email, I got the impression that even if reco letters are late, it is ok as long as your work is done on time. Is it the same with Kellogg?

Also anyone has anything more to add on insights on what 'leadership areas" you seek to develop? Still not unsure how to develop this.

Thanks!

So I asked this R1, they said officially it has to be in ONTIME.. But I hear someone else said that they snuck in with a late one. It's just a risk... but it's R2 so you can't do much about it.

One of my recommenders submitted the day after the R1 deadline and I was accepted. I'm not sure how helpful that is though since R2 may be stricter. You should call the admissions office to confirm.

Hey yellowjacket let me be the first to congratulate you. This is extremely good news after the disappointment of Chicago last year and earlier this year.

Thanks bsd and leonidas.

It was a 2 year application cycle for me, but the first admit really makes it feel worth it.

Trust me mate, I know *exactly* what you mean :) about the 2 year cycle. I'm gonna start a zero admit followup thread to see how zero admits from last year are doing this year. I have seen some great success stories (including yours).

waitlisted as well...booo kellogg   I am waitlisted at Wharton, waitlisted at Kellogg. I do not know what is it about me or my application that they cannot deny me or offer an admission at both schools. The reason I applied in R1 was that I wanted be done with the process in January so I can have enough time to prepare for school. Now I have to wait till March... anyway.. My question is:

they indicate that you can send updates about you while you are in the waitlist. What do you guys plan to do about it?? Write a letter about new developments at work, maybe new exciting projects that shows leadership, or new discoveries about Kellogg that makes you even more enthusiastic about attending there?? What do you guys think the best strategy would be?

Thanks
Emir

And your success story too! You all set on LBS or waiting on other schools?

Some questions for reapplicants: Please feel free to send me a PM with your own stories-

To what degree did you reuse any of the same stories or perspectives from your first applications? When I look at all the writing I did for Kellogg, I can't imagine being able to come up with that much material again.

I think the areas I am lacking are in community involvement and my quant GMAT score (42 66%, even though I got a 710 in total). I certainly don't think this is going to get me into Booth in R2. What kinds of things were you able to do in your year break in between to improve your profiles?
