Cleaning up the board so posting this here so its not lost.
Question to all Kellogg applicants/admits.
As I finalize Kellogg I wanted your thoughts on Essay 4.b (I wish the adcom had asked me...)
Is it advisable to avoid this question as it might be construed by Adcom that this topic was picked by an applicant in an attempt to "recycle" another school's essay?
Should I just stick with
4 A. Describe a time when you had to motivate a reluctant individual or group.
and
4 C. What do others admire about you?
Kellogg is my top choice and I'd hate to goof up on a trivial issue like an essay pick. I'm least comfortable with 4 C. but it will be manageable given I have all weekend.
Thanks all!
I think 4C and 4B are increadibly personal essays, an opportunity to set yourself apart.
In my case, sure I have convinced a reluctant individual and a group, everyone has done that...but 4B can allow you to bring some unique aspect of your story..in my case it was something very personal...i suggest dig something about your past that really is personal
4C is also anther good personal essay...really use this to tell you who you are from the day you were born till 5 min ago..
Hey,
I would agree with fresinha12. There is nuthin wrong with answering 4b. Thats wht I am doing as well. To be on the safe side, just dont pick a story right out of some competitor school essay and also dont structure the question to resemble another school's essay topic. Rather use a very personal experience (which u might have used in a different school essaty) make some cosmetic changes.
