For those of you on the R1 waitlist, you'll notice that AdCom has updated the Wait List FAQ link in your letter to provide details for R2 wait list candidates. I'd expect several R2 wait list decisions to begin trickling out today...

There are still a lot of R2 people who haven't received a decision yet. Many of them will soon find out that they are on the R2 waitlist, possibly beginning today. They'll potentially receive admit/deny decisions on April 12 or May 10, according to the wait list FAQ.

One thing is for sure, with Kellogg waiting until now to start releasing wait list decisions, there is absolutely no way that the order of notifications is completely random. The vast majority of us who still haven't heard are probably in some sort of "close call" grouping.

In the future, I think students should refrain from pushing the "it's completely random" mantra. I understand you're trying to maintain order and sanity, but it's just untrue.

I agree, they are probably assessing the remaining apps against one another.

Hi,

I had applied to Kellogg back in January ...got an email early last week...finished my interview on Friday. Went well. I hope people are still expecting admitted responses cause I certainly don't want a wait list or a reject!

I found out I was denied on Sunday night when I randomly checked my status. The letter is dated 3/18, and I still have not received an email asking me to check my status. I live in Chicago, so there is no issue with time differences. So apparently the dreaded 'check status' email from Kellogg can be as late as 2 days and counting.

FYI...my profile is 710/3.24 top 5 Engineering/6 yrs WE in Eng & Mgmt/male
