If you have previously talked to your admission manager and feel you know her, then you can use words such as "dear". If not, I think it's best to be professional(Ms, Sincerely etc) in the WL letter. Good luck!

The etiquette for a business/professional letter is for the salutation to be "Dear Mr./Ms. _________:" Once there is a better familiarity, it's acceptable to start using "Dear Firstname:" In this case, I'd go with the "Dear Ms. _______:" approach. It's always better to err on the side of being too formal rather than too informal.
Did any of you guys mention in your waitlist letters to Kellogg that you have offers from other schools? Or is it best that I not mention any other admission offers?

Most schools don't care what other offers you have. You'll do yourself no favor by mentionining this.
It's better to talk about your interest in Kellogg, what steps have you taken to improve your application, why are YOU the right candidate etc
Hello, I just sent my update letter to my waitlist manager... should i send it as well to the general admissions office email address? when i spoke to her on the phone, she didn't say anything explicitly on this. also does the WL manager typically reply/acknowledge your update, or should i expect radio silence until they make a decision?

my WL manager emailed me back and confirmed it was placed in my file, i would advise against sending it to yet another email address. wait a couple of days and then give your manager a call if you have not heard anything just to confirm receipt of your letter.
For those of us in the waitlist, if admitted will we receive a call at the time of their decision or only during the WL dates published? I am wondering if those dates are only for dings or keep on the WL information.
