Any of you accepted OR dinged people MMM applicants? (I'm going for MMM). Would be illuminating (at least to me) to see if they're doing MMM's as a separate batch, or interspersed with with the other 2y admits.

Thanks.

Is anyone else taking their phone to the restroom, lest they miss THAT call?

Mine's a cell phone so, in a sense, yes. But what I'm really guilty of is having my heart leap into my throat every time the damn thing buzzes, even when it rang at 10:00 pm last night.

A moment in the life of ChicagoGurl...

1. Blackberry vibrates
2. I glance at the screen
3. Either:
a. the screen lights up, or
b. the screen remains dark
4. If:
a. the screen lights up, then I am receiving a phone call. I get excited until I realize the caller is someone in my phone book
b. the screen remains dark, then I've received a message. Panic begins to set in because:
i. it's a text message, in which case, I'm relieved or
ii. it's an email, which scares the hell out of me because it might be the "rejection" email
5. The process repeats itself over and over and over again until I finally tire myself and fall asleep staring at GMATClub with my finger on the F5 key.

I hear you. I keep refreshing my gmail every 30 minutes during the day and every 10 minutes from 10pm-8am. I wake up many times in the middle of the night and check my email. (Chicago is some 12hrs behind delhi).

A moment in the life of nink on Kellogg 2009 thread last year:

1. Wake up in the morning at 4AM. Fly out to that week's client site in the morning. Check Blackberry for work emails, and ignore all of it until I see that Kellogg didn't send out a rejection email.

2. Arrive at client site by 9AM. Gather the team around and have a morning update meeting on the progress on the assignment so far, and goals for that week. I think to myself, "Goal for the week - Compliment the underlings as much as possible so they don't notice the drop in my productivity for last 12 weeks due to bschool application and GMATClub...."

3. 10AM - Usual GMATClub members on the East Coast are in the forum. Start a thread called "Chat Now" and begin another day of unproductive workday.

4. 11AM - More than 30 posts in the Kellogg thread since 9AM. People are posting random thoughts and bursts...."Wow, they are losing their minds faster than I am..."

5. 11:30AM - More posts in the BW forum that people got in. Some dude named [Jerz] (user name edited for privacy) posted that he got in. "What a troll. What a lying SOB! How can anyone get in when I didn't get in yet with my superb stats and handsome looks?"

6. 12PM - People in the GMATClub chatroom is discussing the sleuth work we did from the previous day on BW trolls. We were so bored that we actually did little investigation that showed evidence that those "acceptances" on BW forum = FAKE. "I wonder if I should start doing some work before my partners want to know why I am not returning their emails or phone calls on time..."

7. 12:30PM - My cellphone rings. "Who the hell is bothering me when I am busy chatting in the chatroom, and refreshing the GMATClub forum???" I pick up, and it ends up being the Kellogg admit call. My mind goes blank.

8. (few minutes after that) I make a quick post in the GMATClub forum regarding my acceptance. Terp or IHTG immediately posts back with various degrees of suspicions. (I was part of that skeptical group previous day) I get up and make an announcement to anyone around me that I am indeed great, handsome, intelligent, and yes - I almost forgot - I got into Kellogg!!!

9. After lunch and more shameless self-complimenting in front of my colleagues etc (plus clarifying to few people that no, I am not quitting my job to go work at the cereal company...I got accepted to Northwestern....), I return to my laptop and return to another day of unproductive work day.

10. In the GMATClub chatroom, in the midst of congratulations from fellow members, a new member logs into the chatroom named Jerz... I talk to him for few minutes and think to myself, "Hmmm, maybe he wasn't a troll....perhaps he might be a nice guy."

11. At the end of the day, I called my friends and family to announce the good news. (Till this day my mother was more ecstatic about my Yale acceptance than any other acceptances. I don't think she understands that in MBA world, Yale isn't quite the same Yale that it is in the undergrad rankings.... Oh well...)

12. Working well into 2AM in the morning with my team to make up for the work I wasn't able to do during the day time. Then return to the hotel for a quick nap and next day begins.

Next day, repeating the same steps of previosu day, but worrying about other school applications.

Don't be bitter about rejections folks. There is no way around them.

Clearly it was because of my even more impressive stats and better looks.

Sometimes Q44 just doesn't cut it. Clearly.
