Hi Lauren, DAK stands for Day at Kellogg. It's an event for admitted students in mid-February, I think...

Its on Feb 12/13

So looks like I'm joining the ding group. Bleh. I didn't get an email or anything (yet); I used the 'Check Application Status' link on the Kellogg website to find out the bad news .... sometimes it's not so great being proactive :-D

To all those who got in, congratulations !! :-D

Let's see, there's a few questions I may be able to help with:

* There should be info about the DAK schedule on the admitted student website. If it's not there already it will be soon. For round 1 admits it's in mid February, and for round 2 admits it's mid April.

* I wouldn't read too much into seeing a lot of admits in the 25-27 range because: i) the people who post on internet forums are not a representative sample of the population (e.g. just looking at this place you'd think the avg. score on GMAT was >700), ii) the avg. age of admitted students at Kellogg has been about 28 for a number of years, and from everything I've heard since I got here the school does not have a desire to follow the trend at other schools towards younger admits.

* I think in most cases the admissions office tries to call admitted students before they receive an email about status. However, this doesn't always happen - especially for international students where time zones pose a challenge.

I wouldn't take your not hearing as a sign you're being dinged. People have been getting acceptances and dings for the past few days; there doesn't seem to be any indication that only dings are going out now.

That is very true. I see everyone with a 750+ gmat score, and it makes it seem like it's not very hard to score 750, which is far from the truth.

Hi
An off topic question. On the Kelloggs website it says that the age range for the incoming class is 25-31 and work experience is 3-7 years. Does it mean that there are no students with more than 7 years experience in the incoming class. Is there no student with 8 or 9 or 10 years experience. maybe sone current students can answer my question.
Thanks in advance.

There definitely are. I am 32 and know at leadt 5 others over 31. I have 6 years of work experience without army, 9 with.

Anyone know what are Kellogg's initiatives in Alternative Energy? I got admitted to Kellogg and its my top choice by far (love the culture) but I am afraid that Kellogg is not as strong in AE as other schools. Jerz or any other current students- do you guys know?

Cheers!

Reach out to Riveripper. I know he's involved with that club.

Saw some people asking about MMM decisions a few posts back. I'm a MMM applicant, interviewed mid-October and haven't heard anything yet. Congrats to all the admits!

Mods- I posted a while back but didn't make it onto the front page. If you can, please add me on before the decision comes out, thanks!

Ugh! Woke up today morning and checked to discover the generic ding letter on the status update page.

Good luck and congratulations to those who got in.
