I was simply presenting data and didn't make any solid conclusion. I agree with your thoughts but I believe that we should still see a trickle of invites next week too.

In 2010, R2 decisions were released consistenty over a 2-3 week period. Here is data from last year's thread on GC:

Day No of admits Percentage of total admits
1 6 12
2 5 10
3 2 4
4 8 16
5 2 4
6 3 6
7 1 2
8 4 8
9 1 2
10 1 2
11 6 12
12 3 6
13 5 10
14 4 8

Ofcourse, things could be different in 2011, since we have seen a lot of invites come in during the first 3-4 days already.

Well, that's a nice thought, but I think it's a flawed conclusion. Last year, 52 people on GC got admitted in R2. I think you can assume a little bit of growth in the website since last year, but even with growth, you're looking at maybe just 10-15 admits today and done. That would match pretty well with the distribution of admits from R1, which was all within the first week.

Exactly. Vast majority of admits are out. If you don't get a call today, then it's most likely a ding or waitlist.

Since we can't be sure how much the GMAT Club group has grown, I prefer looking at percentages. If your data holds, 48% of acceptances go out in the 2nd week. This would be consistent with R1 2010, where 50% went out in week 2. Tiny samples, but I'm hopeful.

From the 2010 board:

Count below is revised...
Here are the stats from R1,
(Week 1, Mon: 12/7) Admit: 1, Ding: 3, WL: 0 %Total_Admitted: 4%
(Week 1, Tues: 12/8) Admit: 2, Ding: 1, WL: 0 %Total_Admitted: 12%
(Week 1, Wed: 12/9) Admit: 5, Ding: 7, WL: 0 %Total_Admitted: 31%
(Week 1, Thurs: 12/10) Admit: 5, Ding: 9, WL: 0 %Total_Admitted: 50% --HALFWAY MARK
(Week 1, Fri: 12/11) Admit: 0, Ding: 3, WL: 0 %Total_Admitted: 50%
(Week 2, Mon: 12/14) Admit: 6, Ding: 5, WL: 0 %Total_Admitted: 73%
(Week 2, Tues: 12/15) Admit: 3, Ding: 5, WL: 0 %Total_Admitted: 85%
(Week 2, Wed: 12/16) Admit: 0, Ding: 0, WL: 0 %Total_Admitted: 85%
(Week 2, Thurs: 12/17) Admit: 0, Ding: 0, WL: 7 %Total_Admitted: 85%
(Week 2, Fri: 12/18) Admit: 2, Ding: 1, WL: 3 %Total_Admitted: 92%
(From 12/18 to 1/11 Admit: 2, Ding: 1, WL: 2 %Total_Admitted: 100%

Yeah, I would say that it's conceivable that we could see some next week, particularly if we see little to none today. I just don't think it's very likely. But, for the record, I hope you are right. I'd love to have my hopes for this school come back from the dead on Monday or Tuesday. I'd be very happy to be proven wrong.

Does no word from the Adcom mean that they haven't reviewed our files yet? Why would they space out the dings like this?

Yeah, if you don't get a call today, it's most likely a ding. As the above posters said, most of the admits are out.

Eerily quiet... The R1 waitlist forum is quiet too, and today is decision day for them. Weird. Damn that new secretary who planned the offsite retreat in the middle of R2 notifications!

Got the call, I am in. Utterly relieved and surprised. Kellogg was stretch for me and the application was very time consuming. Congratulations to other admits and commiseration to dinged applicants.

Congrats...all that worrying for nothing. Calls are still going out apparently, trying not to lose hope
