Not to poke holes in your story or anything........but I thought all Chicago-area applicants had to interview off campus?

You're correct, kate47. However, pretty much everyone at work advised me to choose AdCom over alumni, as far as interviews were concerned. (There were a couple of other reasons that drove my decision to do so as well, but they were more personal in nature.) Given that I do work at one of the top three consulting firms and most of my colleagues are from top bschools, it made sense to heed their advice.

Anyway, back to how I got an on-campus interview: I have been staffed on a project in the US Territories for a while now (which is also why I was up in the air when AdCom called with my decision), and used this mailing address when submitting Part I. It's a somewhat unique project, and sometimes I don't fly home for three weeks at a stretch. You may be able to figure out what firm I work at, based on that staffing model.

No one asked any questions of me when I called to schedule my interview, or during the actual interview itself.

Hope this helps.

Hi everyone, I was a semi-regular lurker last year (when my boyfriend was applying) and am a devoted lurker this year. I'm delurking to post an update: yes they've started releasing decisions. I got off my flight to my client site a couple of hours ago (I'm a consultant) to find a VM from AdCom. I'm in.

For those who're trying to figure out in what order the calls are made, I can only offer myself as a data point. I work for MBB in Chicago, I submitted my app way before the R1 deadline, and I interviewed on-campus on November 5. Kellogg is not my top choice.

More importantly (for me at least) is why I'm delurking to post this: I saw how ugly the forums got last year with people "calling BS" on each others' posts and, in general, behaving like jerks to each other. I don't see why we have to do that - there's no verifiable way to believe if anyone is lying or not, and conjecture on each others' motives will only seek to increase our collective stress levels. So - let's try to play nice in the sandbox, this time around. It'll make our nervousness a lot easier to handle.

Okay, off my soapbox. Back to lurking now, unless anyone continues to behave like a BSD on here or has any specific questions of me. :)

what program did you apply to, if i may ask?

Not to poke holes in your story or anything........but I thought all Chicago-area applicants had to interview off campus?

This is pasted from the application instructions in apply yourself:

"ON-CAMPUS INTERVIEW DEADLINES
Select the on-campus interview request box and submit Part I by.. . . . . . . . . . . . . Oct. 14, 2010.. . . . . . . . Jan. 11, 2011.. . . . . . April 7, 2011
THEN
Contact the Kellogg Admissions Office to schedule and complete
your interview by.. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . Dec. 3, 2010.. . . . . . . . . Mar. 5, 2011.. . . . . . . . April 29, 2011
Please allow two business days after submitting Part I to schedule your interview.
Chicago-area MBA applicants must request an off-campus interview unless applying to the JD-MBA program."

I am also a Chicago area applicant that interviewed on-campus. I was given an opportunity to interview on-campus or off-campus and chose to do it on-campus. I say let's stop trying to poke holes and congratulate those who are admitted. Congrats pillowsofthegods!!!

This waiting period is torturing me. Plus, one thing about Kellogg is that they do not specify when they will release their decisions, which makes this waiting more painful.

So, still only one confirmed admit, right? Weird strategy on Kellogg's part, I think.

Another lurker here. Please add me to R1 Roll call. Was interviewed on 11/10, off campus.

Going out of my mind... Please Kellogg officers, let us know something!
Last year, according to last year's thread, they were much more informative on their blog.
However, if any admission officer happens to be reading this post (which means you're not busy reading my application...), no pressure. take your time :)
