Dear Beth,
Please call. My phone is charged and I have an empty office ready to run into to speak to you if I get an 817 or "unavailable" phone call. If you accept ~1,000 applicants each year, I estimate 400 or so in R1 which means you have just over 36 calls to make each business day between now and 12/20. I know you're a busy woman and the holidays are very hectic so let's now procrastinate. On my part, I promise to show restraint and refresh my Kellogg status page no more than once an hour. I can't make the same promise about my reaction to seeing a GMAT forum posting anticipating someone else saying they heard news.

I am fairly certain that they don't start calling until a few days preceding the final date (ie 20 Dec). I hear what you're saying and I feel similarly but being anxious from now (7 Dec) is a waste of energy.

Just completed my telephone interview 10am CST. It was pretty succinct, typical questions - lasted 36 minutes. At the end my interviewer said that all decisions will be posted Dec 20th.

What's the difference between bellow two:
Extracurricular Activities While in College/University
Extracurricular Activities and Business/Professional Organizations Since College/University

Does the second one mean the extracurricular activities after school?

All on Dec. 20th? That's definitely different than what has happened in the past and what we've all been told. I thought someone already got dinged too. Geez I wish they would just start releasing decisions already...

I'm a lurker, so I'm sure some of you may not believe me. I just called Kellogg admissions, and the gentleman who answered the phone very easily and graciously told me that some decisions had already gone out this morning. Eek!

Not sure whom I spoke to. I'm guessing the front-desk person? Male, if that matters. If you'd like to call them and cross-check, go for it - (847) 491-3308. (I hid my number while calling. And yes, I'm paranoid.)

As for why there's no notification on the blog, your guess is as good as mine. For what it's worth though, last year, Kellogg was posting blog updates every 2-3 weeks, if not more. This year, the three most recent entries were on 10/22, 8/17, and 7/19. None of them had anything to do about specific parts of the app, or upcoming dates/deadlines. I'm guessing they're just not as blog-happy this year?

My status says "All the required elements of your application are complete. If your interview has been completed, the application has been submitted for review to the admissions committee. If your interview has not been conducted, the application will be submitted to the admissions committee upon completion of the interview. The next status check update will be the admission decision (Admit, Waitlist or Deny). When a decision has been rendered, the Office of Admissions will send you an email notifying you to check your status for your decision. Decisions will be released throughout the round, but the majority of decisions will be released during the last several weeks of the round." Not sure what this means, or if this is different from others'.

Just read this on the mbamssion blog:

In terms of what happens after a decision, well, within each of our deadline periods, we don’t have a primary decision release date. We do have a date, I believe it’s January 11 for Round 1, for which we let the folks in Round 1 know, “Hey, the latest you would hear from us would be January 11,” but we don’t pull the lever on January 11 so that all decisions go out. I don’t have an exact date handy, but I would say the latter part of November, we will start releasing decisions. So it’s almost like a mini-rolling basis with an application round period. That’s how that works.
