A month into GMAT Focus prep with a BBA-to-finance background targeting LBS, the score question is real but it is probably the second question worth asking.
• LBS's MBA class tends to have a median around Focus 670 to 680, but the more relevant number for a candidate from a broking and advisory background is the sub-median that actually clears screening, which historically sits closer to 655 to 660 for profiles with strong quantitative work experience. Aim for 675 or above to be safe and above the noise.
• The harder conversation is work experience: LBS typically expects five or more years at application, and your current timeline shows under a year at PwC and a newer role. If you are targeting intake two or three years from now, that changes the prep urgency; if you are targeting the near term, the experience gap will matter more than ten GMAT points.
• The 71 in your BBA is a flag worth addressing early, not because it disqualifies you, but because LBS will want evidence of quantitative capability. A strong GMAT quant section (85th percentile or above) plus your PwC project work is the combination that counters it.
• One thing to do today: map out your expected work experience at the time of application, because that single number will shape which round and which schools make sense far more than the score range will.
Build the experience story in parallel with the prep, and the score target will stay meaningful rather than abstract.
